Hunter asked Rumsfeld on Friday to disembed CNNs reporters as punishment for airing pointless jihadi snuff. Blitzer had him on today to talk things over. A meeting of the minds was not in the cards. I had to cut a lot, including Blitzers repeated assertions that CNN didnt show the moment where the bullet went in, as though lead piercing skin and not the networks intent in running the segment was the objectionable element here. In any case, they did show the soldier wounded (dying?) and slumped forward. See for yourself.
Update: Michael Ware, the CNN correspondent who took the video from the jihadis, has a history. Kesher Talk remembers.

CNN is infested with AMerica hating leftists, top to bottom.
Big Time. "Take CNN out. You can't be for both sides." Said Hunter.
And my preferred method the US military uses to "take out" CNN cannot be printed here.
You know that is one thing that puzzles me. Maybe it is because I've never had a Washington D.C. mindset. I've worked in government and if anything it has made my distaste for it grow and grow. I've seen more than once over a hundred thousand dollars blown in a day or two just to allow individuals to avoid taking responsibility for a decision. The solution was self evident but around and around we went so not to hurt anyone's feelings and to make sure ever bureaucrat's ego was stroked. Meetings are fine and well but sometimes it is just crazy. "Make a decision dammit!" Is what I want to scream.
Call me crazy but I take the simple approach to things. Do good and people will think you good, speak strong and stick by your word and the rest will come as a natural outgrowth of your actions. The amount of energy expended and money spent in order to deceive the public into voting one way or another is so unnecessary but the GOP is by nature more internal. You really have to train yourself to respond to the left because their assertions are often crafted to be unassailable mainly because they are mostly fiction. It is like trying to have an argument with someone who is certain the Easter bunny exists.
I was thinking tonight that Joe Lieberman is proving something I've thought for sometime and that is that the Democrats have done themselves a huge disservice by continuing to latch on to their anti-war and anti-morals base. The GOP should take notice of Joe because they may have inadvertently unlocked a political Pandora's box. Will the Democrats get the message that is starring them in the face? Probably not. They are a bit slow when it comes to winning elections and I don't think this one is going to be much different in the end...
Why is it wrong for CNN to show a snuff film at the behest of snipers?
1. Maybe one of their video guys or a stringer used in the past actually made the video. If so, why didn' they warn the American soldiers of the danger they were in?
2. If the terrorists made the video, then why not show it?
a. Because it could be their intent to get it shown, in which case CNN is part of a propaganda campaign (information warfare), and they should be opposed to being an accomplice of their nation's enemy.
b. For the same reason that CNN would NOT (I think) show a violent rape put on camera by a rapist and handed over to them. They would have some sense of responsibility to the victim and the victim's families. Can you even begin to imagine Wolf Blitzer saying, "But we didn't show insertion."
c. For the same reason we don't pay ransom: we don't want to encourage repeats if the initial action is rewarded.
Good post.
Yes she did, and O'Blowhard was dumbfounded. He leaped to CNN's defense like a true MSM shill. It was a great TV moment in which O'Blowhard made a complete ass of himself yet again. Even the RAT Ann Coulter-wanna be babe said CNN was wrong, but bill stuck up for their treason.
The networks won't show a fan run across the stadium in the buff, or a fight in the stands, because they don't want to encourage copycats, but they will show snipers killing Americans. One must assume that they don't mind that kind of copycat.
Today the entertainment media is working for the terrorists and our troops are getting killed because of irresponsible journalism.
DUNCAN HUNTER BTTT!
Great post, pissant.
CNN is an agent of enemy propaganda. Is there any precedent from WWII for the treatment of enemy propaganda agents, or was nobody brazen enough back then to engage in such tactics?
Duncan is my rep - and I'm so proud of him for taking on CNN over this.
Also .. I noticed on the audio played by Hewitt that Duncan was also talking to some General (didn't catch the name), and he was upset at the General. Duncan told him that if he was a commander of a unit in Iraq and was asked if he wanted a CNN imbed - he would say NO!
Also .. the General admitted a little secret - evidently the enemy "snipers" were lousy - and most of the film was not about actual kills. CNN blacked it out so we couldn't see THAT THE ENEMY DIDN'T HIT THEIR TARGET - but the black out was supposed to make us believe they were hitting the target every time ..??
NOW, I'M EVEN MADDER ABOUT THIS THAN I WAS TO BEGIN WITH.
CNN HAS GONE WAY OVER THE LINE THIS TIME - THIS IS JUST TOO MUCH.
Anyone who gets the answer to this one wrong just isn't paying attention. (BTW, the answer is "no.")

CNN's Dan Rather moment? I hope this is told over and over
"Duncan Hunter...He was a Ranger in Vietnam..."
IOW, he is a Man!
Unlike this Lindsey Gramm fellow.

Of course they don't. It wouldn't be good for ratings. Bad news (bombings, etc) is more exciting and better for ratings than good news (schools being built, etc).
CNN's brass needs to be prosecuted, right now.
My boycott of CNN started about 10 years ago.
