The BIG guy goes to the Big House! :^D
I can't help but wonder what (he or she) thinks about all those Enron folks who lost their savings, stocks, and retirement.
I don't expect them to be consoled by the fact that most of the crooks involved (Skilling, Fastow, Causey) will actually get theirs too.
Ken Lay, of course, has faced a different, and hopefully, merciful judgment.
Sadly, in America, crimes against money draw longer sentences than crimes against people. Oh, yes, I've already heard the long sad story of all of those unfortunate folks who thought they could be millionairs on their pension stocks. Catch a clue. Life is hard. Ordinary people never get anything for nothing! And the more they think they can, the more they will be taken for the suckers they are.
"sentenced to 24 years"
Reminds me of that game in Red Dwarf..."Better Than Life".
Goodbye and good riddance.
Wonder what he would have gotten if he had just removed National Security records in his socks from the Archive?
do you know what ticks me off about this? Child molesters get by with maybe 2-5 years. ...but, OMG, this guy cheated to make more money, lets put him away for good!
and the aclu and all that crowd will rush to the defense of the child molester..
...it's a victory when corrupt people go to prison.
When people like Skilling steer corporations, I would rather see my investments go under the mattress.
Which is obviosly a blow to our system.
