Voters wanting to learn more about the congressional candidates this election can tune in for two live debates on KELOLAND TV.

Tonight, we'll hear from house candidates Stephanie Herseth and Bruce Whalen. The debate begins at 7:00 central time.

TOPICS: Politics/Elections; US: South Dakota
KEYWORDS: brucewhalen; debate; herseth; southdakota; whalen
South Dakota pro-lifers are going to be turning out in droves to pass Measure Six, a measure banning almost all abortions in South Dakota.

This *should* give the Republicans a good chance to unseat Stephanie Herseth, a radically pro-abortion candidate. Unfortunately, the national Republicans have given Whalen's campaign almost no financial support, and Herseth has had a $1,000,000 to $100,000 financial edge. Whalen has a great commercial, but no money for air time.

Media buys here are inexpensive, and a small contribution to Whalen might go a long way toward helping him pull off a major upset.

Please watch the debate tonight and consider a donation to the Whalen campaign:

The national GOP spent all that money on RINO candidates like Jim Kolbe's hand-picked (ugh!) successor in AZ-08 (who thankfully lost in the primary) instead of on a true conservative candidate in a 60%+ GOP state such as Bruce Whalen. Oh, and Whalen just happens to be a Native American from Shannon County, the most heavily Democrat county in America, and holding Herseth below a landslide among Native American voters would doom her candidacy. This is a terrible shame. I hope Mr. Whalen tries again in 2008, because it's going to be impossible to catch up with Herseth in fundraising in the next two weeks, and without money he won't be able to inform South Dakotans about Herseth's ultraliberal voting record.

Herseth has name recognition and a pretty face. Unless there is a huge shift in SD, that seat is her's as long as she wants it.

"Unless there is a huge shift in SD...."

This ad might do the trick...if there were enough money to air it:

South Dakotans don't like being played for fools.

I beg to differ...they continually elected Bill Janklow including sending him to Congress. (Janklow was convicted of felony manslaughter for running a stop sign at 70 mph and killing a motorcyclist. Janklow frequently flaunted the law and bragged about his speeding.)
