"...sent a letter to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld asking him to yank any CNN reporters embedded with U.S. troops in Iraq."

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Nice thought but according to what I've read lately, CNN doesn't have any embedded reporters. None of them have left the Green Zone in weeks.

Then it's even easier. Kick them out of the green zone and pull their ID so they can't get back in.

"None of them have left the Green Zone in weeks."

Exactly. It is half because they have already drawn their conclusions before seeing the situation (because they believe terrorist propaganda over releases from PAO's) and half because they're too scared to leave the green zone, making excuses for this such as "we don't have enough security."

Of course the bastards don't have enough security! The Generals need to be politically correct and cordial with them, but the Soldiers don't. They know their enemy and it's THE MEDIA. Of course it is getting tougher to find units that are willing to provide security for a group of anti-American pinkos who are looking for footage that they can use to take a cheap shot at the US military.

But, back to the sniper videos, the airing of videos like this by the media doesn't bother me as much as their past injustices. They've done far more outrageous things, such as endlessly slapping Abu Ghraib photos on the front page of the newspaper, over, and over, and over; inventing stories about flushing the Koran down the toilet; misrepresenting the actions of a Marine justifiably shooting a wounded terrorist in Fallujah; and so on. Then, after deliberately using those sensationalized "stories" to incite the Arab world, they have the audacity to ask questions like "why do they hate us?" and act surprised when the NIE concludes that our presence in the mideast has motivated fence-sitters to oppose us. Gee, I wonder why, when the media has worked 24/7 for 3 years to misrepresent why we're there, what we're doing, and consistently worked to portray this as another Vietnam from day one. At some point, people start to believe what they hear - especially when the people hearing it grew up in a mudhut, living in their own feces and filth, and were raised to believe in fairy tales and myths ranging from Muhammed to the 12th Imam to Jews eating babies.

The sad thing is that it doesn't need to be this way. That's not to simply bemoan the reality of having a traitorous establishment media. It's foolish and pointless to bemoan reality. What's sad is that nobody wants to recognize and deal with reality. Reality is that the media is our enemy. It is foolish, and potentially suicidal, to pretend that your enemy is your friend as he repeatedly plunges a knife into your back. The military has attempted to make the best possible working relationship with the media, but you can no more have a working relationship with the media than you can have a working relationship with a suicide bomber.

The media in this country is a Star Wars bar scene of anti-American scumbags, traitors, seditionists, liars, crooks, and perverts (much like congress, I might add) who should be locked up indefinitely. We need to bring back internment camps and put every Muslim, journalist, and codepink weirdo in there until no earlier than we leave Iraq and Afghanistan, regardless of how long that may be. So-called "journalists" in Iraq should be fare game, just like any other terrorist is. They're both part of the same enemy force.

Other than that, I have ho strong feelings on this subject.
