I'm no fan of Islam. It is IMHO a false religion generated from the mind of Muhammad to help himself be a conquerer.
However, I am getting tired of the constant Muslim bashing at FR. While Muslims at this time are much more likely to be a terrorist or terrorist supporter than any other religion, the vast majority are not. (Note, I'm referring to rank and file believers, Wahabi clerics in the US are probably more likely to be hostile, as are recent Arab immigrants and young male converts).
I have known two Muslims in my life and would not catagorize either one in the group that is overtly hostile to the US.
Muslims have the same right to their belief as much as any Christian, Jew, Hindu, athiest, etc. If you can tie an individual or group of individuals to treason or terrorism, then try, convict and hang them.
If you cannot, then they have the right to practice their religion (however noxious you find it) in peace. Both state and federal governments have a legal obligation to treat them the same as any other organized religion.
The United States Military Academy has a constitutional obligation (under "free exercise") to make a reasonable accommodation of any religion. Also the USMA and the Army cannot refuse to admit Muslims only on the basis or their religion.
This prayer room is a reasonable accommodation as is a Muslim chaplain.
You don't have to like it, and emotionally I'm not that comfortable with it, but the constitution is crystal clear on this.

Islam's holy book and the words of it's founder directly threaten me and my Country. If a Muslim would disavow the Koran and the teachings of Mohamed they would no longer be my enemy nor a threat to me but, of course, they would also no longer be Muslim.
