Here a a few good reasons from the text of the Texas Constitution-
"(b) The Texas rail relocation and improvement fund is
created in the state treasury. The fund shall be administered by
the commission to provide a method of financing the relocation and
improvement of privately and publicly owned passenger and freight
rail facilities for the purposes of:
(1) relieving congestion on public highways;
(2) enhancing public safety;
(3) improving air quality; or
(4) expanding economic opportunity.

This road is not needed and I will not support this land grab. I do think that something this big and that effects so many Texans and so much land should go to a vote of the people of this state. You do believe in letting people vote do you not? But if it must done Why not do what Harris county does for toll roads, we had a county toll road authority, that sold bonds to build toll roads. But we put limits on it, the tolls only go to the road and nothing else, tolls are collected to pay off the bonds, once the bonds are paid the tolls end, and the authority is only set up to build this road and nothing more unless the voters approve it.
