That is too bad..
Yes...they changed the method here for choosing jurors also..
I have been called twice....but, since I babysit my grandchildren, they let me out of it.
I really hate to hear what happened to your friend..

She and her Husband both died from Smoking caused diseases before their time. I was called for Jury Duty for a Murder Trial and spent three icky days being asked lots of questions, delving into your personal/family life, any criminal background etc. Both the Prosecution and the Defense were really snoopy and I heard waaay too much stuff about everyone's terrible family members. There were five people in that Jury Pool who had relatives that either were murdered or Murdered someone. Needless to say it was a Broward County Jury. On the second day one potential Juror a middle aged Black man who was sitting near the murderer's Family suddenly had a Heart attack and was carted away by Ambulance,he looked scared the whole time. I should have been bounced early because I knew all the police involved Personally, but because all these Homicide cases needed a very large Jury pool of at least 60 potential jurors they did not anyone go without a fight. On the third day I was finally sprung. They picked the entire Jury the next day,and they convicted the guy of Killing a Jewish Jewelry Store Owner after three weeks. I did my duty, but would hate to go through that anal exam again. Bottom line is we must defeat all DemoRATS....LOL!
