Great. As soon as Novak joins the doom and gloom crowd Russert (who hasn't had an articulate defender of Republican policy on for a year except Santorum) invites him on his show.

While that idiot allowed one senior strategist to virtually run a Democrat commercial on the show Novak sat back and agreed. This is aside from the fact that their analysis was way off.

Novak mentioned briefly that there's no huge wave because Democrat candidates have their own problems, but unlike the Democrats on the panel who hyped the minimum wage (something that would lead to unemployment on the lowest levels), Novak did nothing to expound on the reason Dem candidates still have some problems even though it would have aided his argument to mention that people are hesitant because Dems want to raise taxes on the lowest income bracket by 50% (from 10 to 15), reintroduce the marriage penalty and lower the child credit.

But who can blame him? Why aren't any Republicans mentioning the simple fact that Democrats would raise taxes on the lowest income earners by 50%??? Who do they have as strategists? It's so easy to defeat the Dems on these issues, and people vote their wallets, but no attempt is being made.

Pointing out that the Dems would raise taxes on the poor by 50% and on middle class families struggling to put their kids through school by thousands annually would show who the party of compassion really is. I've also suggested proposing alternative sentencing, in part to accomplish the same goals.

What's the matter with GOP strategists??

Watching Fox. Two things really clear. Biden and Levin just hate "cut and run" and are starting something new--"walk and talk." Just like the President says.

Second thing is they are angling every which way to spin and make Iraq a defeat. Our replacing Maliki is a dumb idea by Biden who IMHO is long on psychopathy and short on intelligence.

Things not said that are true. Machiavelli said 500 years ago when you replace an existing order you have great difficulties because those replaced resist fiercely and those who will replace are diffident since they are unaware of the real benefits accruing to them.

Besides that we face two crowd dynamics. The first is a surplus of men of military age with nothing to do and hopes for power. Every study shows a high birth rate augurs for military aggressiveness. Not certain but probable.

Two, we are facing a common dynamic police call a "domestic." We come upon two warring parties and separate them or secure one and then find the other attacks us. Hostile people want to actualize their hostility and will look for every venue possible and strangers or authority is the very best target.

Finally, I know it seems iconoclastic but most people are involved with their families, friends and work associates. Only a minority take much interest in either politics or foreign policy. All these polls are measuring something important to the political elite and hangers on but there is no reservoir demanding a regime change in the US. Most people queried will answer off the top of their head whatever doesn't appear stupid or whatever looks like it will please the pollster. It is the moral hazard of making polls rather than positions the subjects inquiry.

The President has made mistakes in Iraq, blah, blah, blah. He won't admit his mistakes, blah, blah, blah. We need big changes, blah, blah, blah. If he did this, blah! If he did that, blah! If he had eggs for breakfast, blah, blah, blah. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHO'S REALLY SCREWING UP IN IRAQ? Newsflash: THE RADICAL MUSLIMS.

If we DO NOT PULL TOGETHER AGAINST THE REAL ENEMY WE CAN KISS AMERICA GOODBYE. That's all. That's the problem. That's the solution. Any questions?

Mark Kilmer has posted his review over at RedState.COM.  Here is the header:

The Sunday Morning Talk Shows - The Review

Who will help nancy measure for drapes?

By Mark Kilmer

Sunday, October 22, 2006

On TW, the "Tet offensive" remark was not drawing a parallel. It was insignificant. The real headline should have been that he came close to calling Moqtada al Sadr an al Qaeda tool. Or that he pointed out that John Kerry waved the 'white flag of surrender' on Iraq by campaigning for a date certain for withdrawal from Iraq whether or not we had achieved our goals.

Steph had to allow JF Kerry a chance to spread his manure in rebuttal, and he mischaracterized the President as saying that Kerry was waving the white flag by demanding a timetable. Kerry pulled out his dudgeon face, which is as awkward as any other, and called it "reprehensible" and called it "a lie."

On MTP, Barack Obama continued is book tour and Tim Russert called him the new generation of Camelot who will lead us from the tired arguments of yesterday.

On FNS, there was Warner, Lugar, Biden, and Levin. The discussion was interesting, but Biden had thought of everything years ago and Levin could only complain. The only thing which struck me as "new" was Dick Lugar's suggestion that we bring Iran into talks about Iraq.

On FTN, Schumer and Dole again agreed to have dinner. Dole said that President Bush was not on the ballot, and Schumer said that "people want change."

On LE, Arlen Specter was happy with the New York Times story, since refuted by the White House, that the President was considering an Iraqi timetable. He said that this was what James Baker was suggesting, though Baker has said explicitly that it is not. Jack Reed, on the other hand, explicitly agreed with Carl Levin.

I watched with utter dismay Fox News Sunday. What a bunch of depressed gloomy talk. Why are the republicans on the panel accepting the premise that democrats are going to take over Congress? What is this misery they are trying to feed us with all of this specious polling and sad sack talk?

Why aren't pundits asking Nancy Pelosi what will she do when she loses her imperial dream of becoming the first female speaker?

And furthermore, maybe the GOP ought to be out pumping iron, like Rocky Balboa, who never lost a fight when the going got tough. Seems like too many conservatives and republicans are buying into leftwing jabberwocky and rolling over to give them the win.

I say give President George W. Bush another "W"in this November.

It would be absolutely delightful to see the baleful squeals and forlorn despair upon the faces of the democrat loving media and the losing democrats.
