Rush's...Polls in Key Races Showing Movement in Republican Direction
Rush Limbaugh ^ | October 20, 2006 | Rush Limbaugh

-Snip- My guess is there are races like this out there being totally ignored by the Drive-By Media because they don't fit the action line.

-Snip=

One more poll result, ladies and gentlemen. This is from Rasmussen via Real Clear Politics: "Montana Senate race, Conrad Burns (who is, by the way, "toast." To help you put this in perspective, Conrad Burns is toast. It's over. Fini. That's it.) has now moved within three points of John Tester, the Democrat in Montana. I don't know. I'm looking at all this, and I'm smelling movement of some kind, and I'm drawn also, ladies and gentlemen, to our astute phone call from yesterday, said these pollsters need credibility at the end of the day, and he fully expects all these polls to tighten up in the next two weeks or so as we get close to the election.

These wide spreads that we've seen up to now in the polls are designed to depress conservatives and Republicans and thus to suppress turnout, make it look like it's a lost cause. To help along this notion that it is a sweep across the board. I know, Republican pollsters are saying the same thing, Republican strategists filled with doom and gloom. This is the Washington crowd, folks. They're all drinking the same Kool-Aid. They're all subject to the same aura that is there inside the Beltway, but there clearly is some movement here, and it probably will continue. I was thinking more and more about this Republican base not showing up, anger and so forth.

You would.

Too many people don't understand this concept and seldom show up to vote in the primaries then complain about the candidates they have in the general election. IMO these general election only candidates are no different than people who only go to church on Easter Sunday...

If you are serious you vote everytime and vote with your head. The general is one big chess match and we want to make certain it's checkmate for the GOP.

Wasn't Rush dismissing the same polls when they were showing Democratic wins?

Did you read the article. He offered an explanation that you ignore in your post.

Weeks before the election, people usually have more of a "throw the bums out" mentality.

But as the election gets closer and people really consider what the alternative is, they realize that they aren't any better.

I think that's what's happening and why the GOP will surge in the final few weeks to hang on.

Do you really want to see a two-year parade of administration officials being dragged in front of Dim-controlled committees to testify and to try to defend themselves from baseless witch hunts, while the DBM cuts and pastes the tape to show the GOP in the worst possible light? Do you really want to see the Bush Administration be brought to a standstill by endless attempts at impeachment? Do you really want to see grandstanding Dims pass bills doing things like defunding the Iraq war, rolling back the tax cuts, raising the minimum wage and nationalizing health care? Even though those bills would could be vetoed (and/or maybe watered down some by a RINO-laden GOP Senate), it would provide the left with endless talking points to use in 2008, and we'd have those rammed down our throats every single night for two years. Do you really want to have to listen to that?

> With Pelosi as 3rd in line to the POTUS, don't think some BDS loonies won't be thinking how cool it would be to take out Bush & Cheney in some kind of dual assassination plot. <

Get a freaking grip.

I have a grip. I don't actually think it would happen. Or that it would even be attempted. But I double damn guarantee ya there are more than a couple of leftie loonies that would fantasize about it.
Keep in mind that I'm talking about the same clowns that think I should be put on trial for not believing in global warming. That Bush blew up the twin towers & murdered 3,000 people. These are not stable, rational people. Some have already publicly advocated the assasination of Bush.

Do these people have the guts to do it? Who knows? I doubt it. But don't kid yourself. There are a scary number of them that would be more than happy to see it happen.

On Oct 27th I am meeting up with Ken Blackwell Volunteers
We have a list of every Registered Republican in my zip code. The plan is to bypass the Democrats all together, & focus on GOTV.
In 2004 we actually tried to reach out to the Democrats
This time around its total focus on GOP voters.

They're already laying the ground word.

Did you know that idiot Jack Cafferty has his on one-hour show on CNN now? I flipped through last night and the subject was electronic voting machines and how the GOP has them rigged (via the programmers) to make them come up with the GOP as the winners.

This guy is an idiot of the worst kind, a rumor-spreading, no facts, Keith Olberman-type of idiot. I suspect CNN is putting him up to try and steal the few measely views Olberman has at MSNBC.... but he tried to make it sound like he knew what he was saying is fact.

We could solve the voting issue by using the KISS method we use locally, a ballot, fill in the circle for your candidate with a black marker and run through a scanner. No hanging chads and no non-paper trail )as in Diebold)and voter ID requirements like the SCOTUS re-instated temporarily here in Arizona.

Our favorite DU troll spews ignorance yet again.

Why can't we revoke your privileges to be embedded over here with decent Americans?

I think the American public needs to see a Speaker Pelosi and Committee Chairs Conyers and Waxman. I think it would definitely be a boon to conservatives in 2008.

You forget my friend, Democrats will have 100% protection under Pelosi. The Drive by Media knows what turns Americans off, hence they provide cover, hide votes of leftest democrats as well as offering sanctuary for corrupt Dems while literally creating "scandals" for Republicans. I remind you that Dems like Pelosi want to provide a pathway for illegals to vote. Their strategy is not to reach out to moderate & conservative voters. Their plan is to obliterate us by creating a more "Dependant" voter base with entitlement programs, class warfare and Activist judges. I fear a dem Majority in the house, because the American ppl will NEVER get the facts, only the spin.

Rush always dismisses polls. But it is funny when even the beloved POLLS of the Drive by media aren't showing a bloodbath for Republicans.

Believe me, I felt the same way.

BUT THERE IS NO WAY MY VOTE IS GIVING THE TRAITORS IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONTROL OVER THE FUNDING FOR THE WAR AND CIA. NOT TO MENTION THE ABILITY TO RAISE MY TAXES! HOLD YOUR NOSE AND VOTE FOR DEWINE!

For every so called "fed up" voter in the GOP who plan to sit this one out, there are 2 "fed up" voters in the base
(like myself & my husband) who will turn their backs on politics altogether if the Dems gain control.
We will not endure another 2 years of slander, dishonesty, Blame America, Democrats and their accomplices in the drive by media.
We will fold up our tents return to silent worship & let the chips fall where they may.
To voter like us, if GOP voters are willing to play games with whose in power during a time where the stakes are so high, then they can live with the consequences. Just as the RINOS always depend on base voters like myself apparently so do cut n run voters in the GOP. These cut n run voters who want to expel RINOS & replace them with Leftest democrats, as a way to make a point, will also "expel" many base voters in the process. I am not alone in this feeling.

I've said this for six months. The polls are all, ALL, way off. They currently appear to be moving toward reality, but remember, they will STILL be 2-3 points short of what the final vote will be. They will be 2-3 points to the LEFT, which puts them in the margin of error.

Course, it also means that in almost all cases, the Republicans will win.

We will gain at least one, maybe two, seats in the Senate and a seat in the House.

It's amazing that you never hear about disaffected Democrat voters. There were all sorts of stories during the primaries about how Democrat turnout was the lowest ever, but you don't hear anything about that today.

I always say, I don't hold anything against the Democrats for just being who they are, it's the media that I hate because they pass themselves off as objective and then distort the news.

lets face it, Bush has been a huge disappointment to many conservative voters. Whenever I get really angry at Bush my husband reminds me that Kerry was the alternate choice.
That tends to help. lol
My feeling is that conservatives have a fighting chance & a valid voice with Rinos. Conversely, Democrats only want us squashed. i.e. no voice in the process at all.
