Rush's...Polls in Key Races Showing Movement in Republican Direction
Rush Limbaugh ^ | October 20, 2006 | Rush Limbaugh

-Snip- My guess is there are races like this out there being totally ignored by the Drive-By Media because they don't fit the action line.

-Snip=

One more poll result, ladies and gentlemen. This is from Rasmussen via Real Clear Politics: "Montana Senate race, Conrad Burns (who is, by the way, "toast." To help you put this in perspective, Conrad Burns is toast. It's over. Fini. That's it.) has now moved within three points of John Tester, the Democrat in Montana. I don't know. I'm looking at all this, and I'm smelling movement of some kind, and I'm drawn also, ladies and gentlemen, to our astute phone call from yesterday, said these pollsters need credibility at the end of the day, and he fully expects all these polls to tighten up in the next two weeks or so as we get close to the election.

These wide spreads that we've seen up to now in the polls are designed to depress conservatives and Republicans and thus to suppress turnout, make it look like it's a lost cause. To help along this notion that it is a sweep across the board. I know, Republican pollsters are saying the same thing, Republican strategists filled with doom and gloom. This is the Washington crowd, folks. They're all drinking the same Kool-Aid. They're all subject to the same aura that is there inside the Beltway, but there clearly is some movement here, and it probably will continue. I was thinking more and more about this Republican base not showing up, anger and so forth.

How was that DeWine was able to get through the primary? That is where Ohio conservatives should have stopped him.

TRUE! TRUE! TRUE! We didn't learn this lesson with Arlen Specter in '04; maybe this go 'round we've learned that the way to stop all of our anxiety in the General Election is to stop the RINOs in the Primaries.

I love Rick Santorum and I'm praying he wins. But, his support for Specter in '04 over Pat Toomey, a true Conservative, is the reason he's in the mess he's in today.

I wonder if it's dawned on Rick that he blew it big-time?

But, Sherrod Brown is such a low-life, scum bag. He looks like the stereotypical used car salesman. I say "stereotypical" because there are some decent used car salesmen out there.

PLEASE DON'T DO THIS. If the alternative was someone half-way decent, it would be one thing, but, Sherrod Brown? Heavens no.

How much of a "reverse Foley" effect is there? People ticked off that the Dems and the press are trying to tar and feather everyone with this nasty brush, while Democrat scandals are ignored? It's got me all wound up. I'm taking election day off to work for the party, which I haven't done in 30 years. Why? Because I'm MAD.

Take comfort in the fact that no one listens to NPR except left-wing, lib, loonies.

Indeed it would be nice--can you imagine the progress we would see if we took 60 for the senate. That would be great even with the few rinos. At least we should see a better judiciary. I can only pray.

Does anyone else remember 2004 being similar where up til October it looked very likely Bush would lose?

Does anyone else besides me know people who were tempted to sit home but the hate from the dems have made them go out and vote? Maybe hold their noses but they will vote.

I heard the smug chair of the Democrat Party from PA on FNC this past week. He specifically stated Santorum would lose because the conservatives were angry over Specter and Toomey.

No one added that, as I have read, Toomey is supporting the GOP.

In my District, the only Rs are the state reps. Ron Kind and Herb Kohl are locks. As for governor, I am voting Mark Green (R), but I doubt most of the state knows who he is. However, the expensive mailers began arriving yesterday, so maybe he can pull it off.

Please, you who are in districts where you can keep the GOP in control, do so even if you have to vomit before and after you vote. If nothing else, think of our country and our troops. Does anyone want a replay of Vietnam, besides the donks?

This goes a bit too far. I hope the Republicans retain the House, as well as the Senate, becuase as bad as the House Republicans can be, a Democratic majority would be worse. Still, I'm definitely with you to the extent that I can see -- as a silver lining to a regretable outcome -- the benefit in both a face slapping of the House Republicans, and the instructive benefit to the American people for 2008 of whatever nonsense we'd see from the Democratic House leadership.

What would be best of all, of course, is what another poster mentioned: a vibrant primary system which could enable serious conservatives to toss on their ass various archetypes of venality, incompetence and unintelligence who are too numerous in the House and who (thanks to Gerrymandering, among other things) are least likely to get tossed out in November.

Quoted: Personally, while I hope the Pubs retain the Senate, I would like to see the Dems take over the House. One, it would be a needed slap in the face to the somnabulent House leadership. Two, I think the American public needs to see a Speaker Pelosi and Committee Chairs Conyers and Waxman. I think it would definitely be a boon to conservatives in 2008.

I'll mail in my vote today - for Graf, against benefits for illegals, against mass mail voting, for smoker's rights (hate smoking, but folks are going crazy!), and against more money for pre-school programs.

Rass was using a very unrealistic turnout model and admitted to such on the Hugh Hewitt show. (For example, each party would turn out 39% in Virginia.)

I guess that given the media coverage and conventional wisdom, you could maybe make the case that that was the turnout that is expected from garbage like the generic ballot model.

If the MSM can depress Republican turnout they and their party will win.

Are there that many Republican voters who are naive enough to fall for the same old tricks of the MSM, with their selective reporting and skewed polls? I for one, just get more and more ticked off. All the Republican voters I know are highly motivated and far from "depressed" and apathetic.

NPR discussions have been about Democratic landslides and the hosts are giddy. It is time to shut down that political organization. With Soros they don't need their cheesy telethons or contributions from jihadists.

Re: NPR--I've always wondered why their entire political programming history hasn't been analyzed to evaluate bias. It wouldn't be hard and it wouldn't have to be 100% accurate to show a laughable anti-Republican bias. The study could be attached to a House Bill defunding NPR entirely.

The federal government has no business funding political propaganda. Besides, Juan and Mara would be out of day jobs and, I hope, dropped as Fox News Clintonistas.

The time to teach the Republicans a lesson is in the primaries. The time to fight for the survival of civilization is in the general election.

Exactly! I hope most Republicans and rational Democrats (there are some) understand that the WOT is nothing less than a war to destroy our civilization, indeed civilization itself.

For me it's personal. I have children who live and work in port cities which makes them more vulnerable to gibbering savages with WMD on a boat.

Most of the elected Ds are completely willing to see my kids die in agony for a little political gain.

It's hard to imagine someone hanging around FR for over 5 years who could think and feel the same as those Ds, and I certainly hope you don't, jaime. Please rethink your "strategic" position.

As Rush said, if it wasn't for the House, we would have an Amnesty Immigration bill PASSED!!!!! They stopped it, the House GOP are heroes.

The House deserves our support and our respect.

As long as we are quoting, how about this from Henry V to inspire on election day:

He that shall live this day, and see old age,

Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,

And say 'These wounds I had on Crispian's day.'

Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,

But he'll remember, with advantages,

What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,

Familiar in his mouth as household words-

Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,

Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-

Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.

This story shall the good man teach his son;

And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,

From this day until the ending of the world,

But we in it shall be remembered-

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;

For he to-day that sheds his blood with me

Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,

This day shall gentle his condition;

And gentlemen in England now-a-bed

Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,

And hold their manhoods cheap; whiles any speaks

That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

Many of the tax cuts are set to expire. We need a GOP congress to make them permanent. Besides, IMO for the most part the congress has been better than the Senate.

I had ever intention to let DeWine go down in flames over his BS deal on judicial nominations and his voting for amnesty and Social Security for illegals. Those actions of his is why he is down in the polls in Ohio. Base is pissed off that he betrayed us.

Back in 2000, I had every intention not to vote for Pete King in my congressional district after he stabbed us in the back on the Clinton impeachment.

Come election night, the MSM was making it sound like (as usual) the Democrats were going to take control...so I voted for Pete King and I have every election since.

It sounds to me like jaime1959 has been listening the Neal Boortz, he's been spouting this line to his listeners for weeks now.

Isn't Boortz one of Hannity's close buddies?
