Nancy Pelosi said the economy is in a tail spin. People are suffering. How can the stock market be doing so well? Is it a bubble? Can we believe Nancy?

Good news here too,...I think....

Crude-oil futures fell as traders awaited further signs that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries will make good on its pledge after members of the group agreed to cut production more than anticipated. November crude dropped $1.68 to close at $56.82 a barrel, losing 3% for the week to expire at the contract's lowest level since June 2005. See Futures Movers.

Dow over 12,000, gas around $2/gallon, unemployment at 4.6%, six million news jobs in the last three years, housing starts up, more home ownership {on a percentage basis} than at any time in our history. Yep. Depression.

I read about the 12000 dow on the front page of the NY Times - way down in tiny print in the bottom corner.

They couldn't put it at the top. They had to put a war picture there.

Did it go up a bit from Thursday's close? I checked the article and didn't find it mentioned. I think it must have, or else the headline could have been, "closed on a down note for the week."
