It is not clear why the voters of 1974 thought it wise or just to indirectly cause the destruction of millions of allies in Southeast Asia because of the cover-up of a minor burglary at the Watergate.
In large part due to the efforts of our “esteemed” media:
Because of Watergate Nixon and all Republicans are dishonest crooks.
The killing in South East Asia will end because we are no longer there to antagonize the nice communists.

In my defense however I was coming off of many years of heavy drug use and my grasp of reality was tenuous...at best.

I agree. I think it was because Clinton was dominating in the news as a result of his going after Chris Wallace. The party released the Foley matter, but too soon. Hopefully, this could backfire. Chris was doing his job as a good journalist. I find it highly ironic that Republicans could hang on because a journalist did what any good journalist should--ask reasonable questions. And he's a dem to boot!
