I supported the president when the US invaded Iraq in 2003, and I support him now in "staying the course" there. However, just as the "Global War on Terror" does not identify our enemies, so too, he, Rumsfeld etc have been imprecise in naming whom the enemy is in Iraq.
Al Qaeda appears to have been decimated there, but who really is fighting us - dead end Baathists, Shia death squads, Iranian agents, all of the above? We won't win until we know whom we must destroy. The president has done a bum job on this score.
Any answers?

The way to stop Muslims from killing us is to get them killing themeselves.

Sounds like this is an internal Iraqi matter and should be dealt with by the elected government. This is something that we all should get use to. For the most part US forces should work to bring the Iraqi Army and Police up to full strength and then only be available for backup.
