The Sunnis are largely Saddam adherents.

Everyone has his eyes on the future, not the past. If Saddam died tomorrow there'd still be Sunnis fighting for control of their piece of Iraq and Iraqi oil. No one expects Saddam to come back into power nor do they have any use for him. There is no shortage of ambitious guys with guns.
