U.S. intelligence has detected the departure from a North Korean port of a North Korean ship suspected of carrying military equipment banned under a U.N. sanctions resolution against Pyongyang's Oct. 9 nuclear test, CBS News reported Thursday.
The United States is tracking the ship, CBS said, noting that it remains uncertain exactly what the ship is carrying and where it is headed.

WASHINGTON: The United States is tracking a suspicious vessel that left a North Korean port, a US official said Thursday, adding it was uncertain what it was carrying.
An American channel reported that US intelligence suspects that the vessel is carrying military equipment banned under an embargo imposed by UN Security Council in response to North Korea's October 9 nuclear test.
"The United States is aware of a vessel that has left a North Korean port," the US official said. "There are some suspicions. I would be careful of the certitude of the vessel's cargo."
The official said it was a "suspicious ship," suggesting that its history was a key reason for watching it.

Gee, I sure hope North Korea does not find out we are tracking their ship... asshats at CBS. We're probably tracking all the ships in/out of NK. CBS is trying to make a story out of nothing.
To: dubie
Things like this are normally leaked to the media for a reason. Perhaps they're hoping that because its become public knowledge the ship will sail back to port to avoid a confrontation.

Does CBS news have a deep source at DIA and CIA or something? If I was the Director at either of these places, I think I would be burning leaks at the stake.

Does anybody doubt that Kim Jong Il wants a war? How do you negotiate with someone who wants a war? Answer: You don't. You wait until it's your time and place. I hope that we're picking the time and place right now if it comes to it.

Agreed. I thought the article would be from NK talking about the U.S. dumping Agent Orange on their ships.

Nah...Hit it with one of those massive anti-ship cruise missiles that blow the target in half. That would be way cooler.
