If the Rats win either of the houses ... McLame will be the least of our worries
I rarely disagree with El Rushbo, but if the Republicans want to be taken seriously again then they have to display the kind of leadership and initiative they showed during the Gingrich years. It shouldn't matter who the President is or who's running the Senate. That's no excuse for laziness, incompetence and hypocracy.
I am not a McCain fan but we could do worse.
"I AM THE RESERVATION!" he said. Vintage, legendary Rush.
If Republican't loose, the majority that will loose were not real republicans to begin with....like McCain! No way he gets elected or nominated for that matter.
Don't worry Rush, voted a straight ticket GOP, even voted for Rinold because I know he is going to win.
McCain could win the national election as the Republican candidate but he will never get the Republican nomination.
If we lose the house, in two years the moderates will be selling the point that the "conservatives" abandoned the party, and that we need to pick more "moderates" to pull the independents back because the "conservatives" can't be counted on to deliver victory.
So we'll end up with MORE moderates, not more conservatives. We'll be watching a republican majority which has large defections to the democrats on issues we care about, because they will be "moderates".
The time to defeat the moderates is in the primaries. Then if your conservative candidates lose, it's because you took a shot.
Letting your republican lose in the general election by not showing up, or by voting democrat, removes all moral authority you might have to determine who will represent republicans in the next election.
I am always fighting moderates who want to bolt when we pick conservatives to run -- and I tell them that party loyalty has to mean something, or we'll lose every time.
Well, that loyalty is a two-way street. If you want to abandon the republican party, do it after this election, and vote in a 3rd-party primary.
This was going on last night

I will *never* vote for John McCain. If it ends up being McCain vs. Hillary.......*sighs; rolls eyes*
Thank God right now it's still just a horrible nightmare that only exists in my dreams...
There's something else to think about. We know that the polling data is being skewed toward the Dems..and I believe it is more than just to depress turnout. First, they make it appear that the Dems are going to take control...and then when Republicans win close races..the Dems can pull the same crap they did in Ohio..claiming fraud, etc.
Rove and Bush are not as worried as everyone else, and I think it's because they have a better sense of the truth. The Drive by Media is fueling this horse race not just for ratings, but because they hope that in CASE the Dems lose, they can at least CYA by focusing on fraud...it'll be another 2000 controversy (the only way the Dems will not look like losers in this is to claim they were cheated)
Hmmmm ..?? McCain in '08 .. Hmmmmm ..??
I've been wondering about all the people coming onto FR and trying to tell me Pelosi isn't so bad .. etc. After reading Tony's article .. it must be the McCainiacs.
This is their payback for not voting for the that idiot in 2000. I'll never vote for McCain .. even if he runs against Hillary.
