A.J. Strata, in his blog, seems to second that opinion that Steele is in good shape.

No question socialist/greenies are our friends, at least, in an election. At least, in all states but Vermont.

A heartfelt good luck to you. My sister and her entire family live in NE Ohio and I know they all support Blackwell.

I'll be honest: I'm hearing there is a N. Ohio/S. Ohio divide that is really hurting Ken---and the "makeup" is in the middle, which is where I am. So far, I think we're doing really well. But I'm not in Columbus, the other "swing" county/city.

--You know, in fairness, Hoyer's remark probably was very innocently made. "Slavish" is a valid English word that is race-neutral. It just shows how people tend to look for even the slightest offense.--

It's still worse than what Trent Lott said re. Strom Thurmond. Lott was forced to resign his leadership post.

Hoyer is from the same state as Lott. Any calls for Hoyer's resignation yet???? The media double standard is beyond the pale.

Hoyer is from Maryland, Lott is from Mississippi.

"Hoyer is from Maryland, Lott is from Mississippi."

If the democrats win, I'm moving to Mississippi, the last conservative state.

--Hoyer is from Maryland, Lott is from Mississippi.--

Thanks for the correction. I must have been thinking of the late Sen. Stennis.

This is what bothers me: in Franklin and Delaware counties I'm seeing lots of incumbent Republican signs (DeWine, Pryce, Tiberi, and State legislators), even more than in 2004, but very few Blackwell signs. None, however, have Strickland signs along with the incumbents. I think alot of it is people are afraid to admit that they might support Blackwell-- except me, of course-- or are they planning to undervote? I doubt the latter, but it is in the back of my mind. Delaware County, where I live, is RINO central-- first county committee to endorse Petro-- but Blackwell still won, which is somewhat consoling. All this makes me think that DeWine, Pryce, and Tiberi are "safe". Hopefully, on Nov. 7, we will see reverse coattails for Blackwell, which is what I suspect. If KB wins Delaware and is respectable in Franklin, it will be a harbinger of a good outcome.

I'll ask around about the internal polling up there. We found that he is running VERY strong in Montgomery, and is pulling 40% of the black vote. Now, I doubt seriously that just 90 miles up the road the sentiment is that different. It may also be something as simple as having signs available. We have lots. People tell me that they want them in the north, but don't have them.
