As one of our fellow FReepers said "the only reason to call 911 is to have them send civil servants to cart off the corpse and clean up the mess".
Thank God Florida has some people with good sense. We got a citizen-friendly concealed-carry law 20-odd years ago and just recently progressed from 'yah gotta retreat" to "stand your ground".
Contrary to the woeful predictions of the anti-gun doomsayers the streets have neither "...run red with blood..." nor turned into battlegrounds. Mostly, nobody's noticed a difference.
Last week there was an illegal immigration rally in Portland, OR and the illegals started throwing rocks at the counter-rallyers. The cops told them to stop throwing rocks. No arrests.
I agree.
Believe it. I'm from Kansas City and while on a visit in Berkeley, CA witnessed two men punch a woman to the ground and put her in a car and drive away. I called the policae and gave them the car's description and license plate number. The police called me later and told me.."It was a brother bringing a sister back home!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I was flabbergasted at the ridiculousness of the whole entire scanario.
I swear to God I would like to flush the State of New Jersey out of the Union. From not being allowed to make a left turn (you have to make a right to make a left, i.e. use the jug-handle) to the small fortune in tolls one must pay on both the Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway, to the Gay Ex-Governor, it turns my stomach! Apologies to all NJ Freepers......Why don't you get rid of Illinois while you're at it? We have a moonbat governor, and tolls one must are also insane, as well as the fact that you cannot C&C in this state. It sucks.
Mostly, nobody's noticed a difference.
Please don't hold your breath until the Elite MSM reports it.
The New Jersey Turnpike is a bargain compared to I-95 in Delaware which costs $3 bucks to go less than twenty miles.
The ruling was correct. The USSC said a long time ago the police are not responsible for an individual... Makes sense too. Otherwise we would have to pay taxes for individual body guards for all citizens and live in a more police state than we do.... That is why the RKBA is in the Constitution among other reasons.... The state should be sued for civil rights violation though.
see #71 - have you considered this?
I have lived in NJ since 1985, originally from Chicago, and I have never seen a state in which Dem rule is such a fait accompli. I voted for Schundler for Governor, and was involved enough to network with his supporters a few years back. The mysterious thing is the invisibility of the Democrat Party network anywhere: it exerts its power seemingly out of nowhere and effortlessly. And non-entities like McGreevey and all the "scandals" being him would involve, has NO effect on the "electability" of his equally odious successor,Corzine, who is virtually invisible himself except when he pushes his hand deeper into your pocket, raising the sales tax, and also levying new taxes on both items and businesses previously untaxed.
Oh, I bookmarked that one. It'll have to wait until after Christmas but yeppers, looks interesting! Thank you!
Disgusting in the extreme. There's a reason the Soprano's settled here.
I was thinking of another Wiggum quote which I can't remember accurately. Perhaps it was the set-up to that little exchange of wisdom.
