Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman continued his tightrope walk Tuesday across the divide separating Democrats and Republicans, swaying back and forth.
Lieberman is the man in the middle, a Democrat seeking re-election as an independent, largely reliant on Republican and unaffiliated votes.

All five Senate candidates - Lamont, Lieberman, Schlesinger, Ralph Ferrucci of the Green Party and Timothy Knibbs of the Concerned Citizens - will tape a debate today for broadcast Thursday at 7 p.m. on WFSB-TV, Channel 3.

In New Haven, moments after Lieberman confirmed he was rooting for Democrats to win the House, one of the Republican congressmen targeted for defeat offered Lieberman an unusual testimonial.
U.S. Rep. Chris Shays, R-4th District, told reporters his own re-election was secondary to the re-election of Lieberman, whom he called "a national treasure."

WTF???
Lieberman is no "national treasure" to me, but he IS the anti-Red Ned Lamont.
Sorry, but no conservative should vote for Lieberman - it's really no different, policy-wise, from voting for Teddy Kennedy.
/sarcasm
I just pinged the CT list to the article about WFSB and the media blackout. I admit I only had time to SKIM the article (as usual)...
Policy wise it's like voting for Ted Kennedy? Joe has been stalwart on the WOT and backing of Israel, can we say the same for Teddy?
Nope.
I want to see Lieberman re-elected. The nation can't afford a man like the lamentable Ned Lamont.
I mean that the net result will be the same regardless of his personal stance. Lieberman will be one more vote for the Dem caucus in the Senate, which if they take control will install the liberal agenda, including bugging out of Iraq and in general appeasing our enemies.
Oh, yeah, BTW..Let's go METS!!!
They can both go fly a kite.
YES... Go METS!!!
Ken, where ya been all baseball season? :o)

Thanks for the ping! I look forward to watching Schlesinger, but realizing CT Republicans need to vote Lieberman to keep this Senate seat from becoming a MoveOn.org soapbox. As you know, CT is too Democrat in a year when the winds are against the Republicans to hope that Schlesinger, who last I saw was at 5% in the polls, can pull out a win. The best he can hope for is to pull enough votes for Lieberman that Lamont will then win. We can't afford another Kennedy, Leahy, Durbin or Boxer in the Senate and that's who this extremist Lamont would be a clone of.
Lieberman will not support "bugging out of Iraq" Joe know the consequences both to the United States, the WOT and what it would mean to Israel.
