FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 18, 2006

CONTACT: Brendan Daly/Jennifer Crider 202-226-7616 Pelosi: It’s Time for a Change, Not Republican Business as Usual

Washington, D.C. – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today in response to a story in The Hillreporting that House Republicans feel “there would be little need for reassessments or rehabilitation if they retained control of the House in the 110th Congress.” Specifically, Congressman Tom Davis (R-VA) said: “If we hold it together, I don’t think you will see any change at all.”

“Ethical and legal scandals have plagued the Republican-run Congress – from the resignations of Tom DeLay and Duke Cunningham to the admissions of improper conduct by Bob Ney and Mark Foley. Special-interest influence, secret legislating, lobbyist gifts, and revolving doors have compromised the integrity of the Congress, and the American people are paying the price. Republicans have not only failed to respond, they now say they are committed to maintaining the status quo.

“Republicans are determined to stay the course with their failed policies that have taken America in the wrong direction. As our economy continues to leave middle-class families behind, the war in Iraq spirals out of control, and charges of corruption and scandal swirl in Congress, the American people believe it is time for a change – not Republican business as usual.

“If Democrats win control of Congress, we will turn the most closed and corrupt Congress in history in to the most open and honest. We will take our nation in a New Direction by restoring truth and trust to the halls of power with our Honest Leadership, Open Government Act.”

They're out of money so their only campaign advertising can come through press releases but the only problem with that is there are plenty of MSM outlets willing to give them the free time.

It's a good thing elephants never forget:

Two political action committees linked to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi have been charged with attempting to circumvent to legal limits on campaign giving, the Federal Election Commission has ruled. According to the March 2004 FEC finding, Pelosi appears to have violated the same kind of arcane campaign finance regulation that spurred the indictment of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay this week.

And speaking of Abramoff:

"Pelosi accepted $2,000 from the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe on November 19, 2003, as well as $1,000 from the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians on August 14, 2002."

Why aren't there equal press releases for the Republicans countering such nonsense?

Counter it? Why would we want to counter it?

I want to highlight the fact that if the D's take over, Nancy Pelosi will be in charge! Matter of fact, the more Pelosi is on TV, the better.

Watch my eye, you lazy/stupid walk on the water in your Wet Dreams, Cut and Run Rinos. You are getting very sleepy. Stay home on Election Day and teach your party a lesson. Stay home my pretty ones and enable me to be the House Speaker! Give the Evil GW/Cheney/Roves what they deserve, me as House Speaker!

“Ethical and legal scandals" have hit the demoncRATS just as hard if not harder. Prime example is having the clintoons still around with all the demoncRATS kowtowing and bowing to these two ethically-challenged, morally corrupt individuals.

Exactly, put the clowns like Pelosi in charge and congress will look like a zoo. They will try to pass high taxes, quotas, slave reparations, terrorist rights, and impeach the president.

Bin Laden and every other enemy of the USA is pulling for Nancy and her buddies. The biggest celebrants after she wins will be Al Qaida, communist dictators and the French.
