I think he is demonstrating that he really does not understand some of the dynamics of what is happening. Conservatives believe in issues and ideas. Rush seems to think winning is simply defeating democrats regardless the political priorities. Theoretically he is saying it is superior to vote for a Republican crook than a conservative leaning democrat.
No. What he is saying is that at least you have a chance of getting what you want with the current make-up of Congress. If the Dems gain control this time around, You have ZERO chance.

Exactly right. A Republican Majority can be made stronger conservative every couple years during the primaries, but if there is a Democrat majority, it's all over, and it will be all liberal legislation all the time, all tax cuts reversed, increased spending, we'll retreat from the war, the border will be opened and all attmepts to stop it will be blocked, and it will be liberal or milk toast moderate judges or no judges. IF someone is really conservative, they'll vote Republican even if they don't like some things in the GOP. The primaries are the time to fix those things and push more conservative candidates and replace retiring RINOs when they retire. The election is time to dance with what brung you, not sit it out and help Democrats win and destroy this country.
