John Stuart Mill once famously called the British Tories "The Stupid Party." From time to time since then, the Tory's American cousin, the Republican Party, has also earned that moniker. Now may be one of those moments. If current polls and anecdotes are to be believed, there may be a million or two conservative Republicans who are planning to not vote this November. Of course, Mill also said that : "A person may cause evil to others not only by his actions but also by his inaction, and in either case he is justly accountable to them for the injury." Apparently, these anticipated conservative non-voters are annoyed with Republican imperfection. They are disheartened, disappointed, disillusioned, distempered, dismal -- and thus plan to dis the party that better advances conservative principles in government. They appear to have fallen victim to the false syllogism: 1) Something must be done; 2) not voting is something; therefore, 3) I will not vote. Of course the fallacy of the syllogism is that the second category could be anything. For example, number two could as well read "eating dog excrement is something." I rather suspect that they will feel about the same afterward, whether they chose the non-voting option or the scatological one. They are both equally illogical -- and repulsive -- and would deserve the moniker, "Stupid." Here are some tell-tale signs of the sort of person who would vote (or not vote) to cause the election of a party which would act to defeat every value and interest he holds dear (merely because the party that will at least try to advance most of those issues has not done as well as he might havehoped) ...............

LOL! You have the whole thing backwards. It is not my job to inspire the candidate but his to inspire me. I hardly call sticking to conservative Republican principles being "high-maintenance." What is the purpose of this exercise if it is not principle?
My point is that all of these conservatives who will not be voting Republican as a matter of principle, are expecting the candidates to be something that has never existed....a carbon copy of themselves. I think some of them should just run for office and quit waiting for the conservative messiah.
I believe it is the power-grubbers who serve the left, not the principle-holders. If "R" is your highest value then all the left must do is offer a leftist "R" and a leftist "D" and they win everything by default.

Be honest. It isn't me expecting others to do exactly what I say. It is you expecting me to vote according to party power rather than conservative principle. I won't do it. Some will. This is just notice to all candidates and their party supporters. I vote for conservatives only -- and not closeted conservatives who are ashamed of and cannot articulate conservative principles.
It is in the process of being fixed. It just takes time. Pure demographics are forcing the nation farther right, not to mention the WOT. The Republicans will respond, the Dems will not.

There will be plenty of former US states left with the ability to oppose Islam. The problem is that we are being corrupted from within with political correctness. I just read a headline that Rice thinks the creation of a Palestinian state was a great legacy for the US. That's not what I would call opposing islamo-facists. It sounds more like a clumsy attempt at appeasement.
Since nobody else has bothered to answer this, maybe you can try: Name a Republican candidate, past or present, who agrees with you on ALL of your top 25 issues.
I don't even agree with Ann Coulter on everything. (In the CA governor race she supported the Lunkhead). So what? I don't want someone who agrees with me on all the top 25 issues, just the important ones. Hell, you could even support abortion, you could even support gay marriage, but for crying out loud, let's protect the borders. Let's stop the spending. The expansion of government. Let's obey the Constitution.

OK, I will be honest. I don't think there's any chance of you voting straight-ticket Republican...now or ever. Thus, I am doing my best to use you as an example of how some selfish individuals would rather take their ball and go home rather than take the best choice on the table. Go ahead and hold your vote hostage to the benefit of liberals everywhere. I will not be deterred. Does it even bother you that through fraud 8 registered Democrats can produce 10 Democrat votes? There is no ideal candidate EVER, but the alternative is usually alot worse.
You're right. Vote Democrat. They've always been for tight border security and traditional marriage and reducing the size of government and following the constitution.
I haven't voted for a Democrat in years. So your attempt to fictionize me for the sake of example won't work.
