Thanks for the help. Who should take the military lead in Darfur? Everybody seems to be looking at the USA. We did not install the government in Sudan. Who installed and supports Sudan?

Sudan is split between north and south I believe, the south being Christian, and the north Muslim. that's where all the trouble is, as well as some raids for slaves into the south, some of which find themselves in Sadi Arabia as slaves. I'm not sure who promoted the Government in the north, at one time it was a blend, but Muslims have taken it over in recent times.

I think it was the UN that finally drew a line between north and south in an effort to keep the peace. No doubt Frances idea, sinse they have played a large part in Africa screwing things up, like they did in Nigeria.

France has considerable influence there. My theory: France encourages the elimination of native Sudanese and destruction of property by Arabs. France then clamors for the UN (read U.S.) to rid the Sudan of Arabs and/or establish proctectorates so that Schlumberger, already a presence there, can begin extracting from the lake of oil under the Sudan (larger than the oil deposits in Arab countries.)

Our American military are used as mercenaries in Asia (our 60 year presence in S. Korea and Japan) the Balkans (Kosovo and Macedonia) and soon Africa, for the interests of foreign states.

Our leadership would be consitent with the Bush Doctrine.
