Ms. Giffords is endorsed by every prominent liberal political action committee in the nation, including such radical groups such as Emily's List (www.emilyslist.org), Las Adelitas www.lasadelitas.com/, the National Women's Political Caucus (www.nwpc.org), and the pro-Gay Marriage Human Rights Campaign Fund (www.hrc.org/nov2006/). She was described as a "feminist candidate" by the Feminist Daily News (www.feminist.org). The liberal blog Daily Kos describes her as a "fantastic candidate" (www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2006/9/13/11956/6807) and her political patron, Rep. Raul Grijalva, is a member of the ultra-liberal House Progressive Caucus (http://cpc.lee.house.gov/). The Almanac of American Politics describes his voting record as "strongly liberal."

Was it a coincidence that, as I was reading this, I was also watching Blazing Saddles on the other monitor where Taggert tells the boys: "I'd say ya'had enough!" (beans)

Reading the description of the lawyer's response to the "liable" (i.e. truth) against his client it certainly seemed like she'd been eating at some proverbial beans herself.

It's time to stop dealing with these people with unloaded fingers and realize that no matter how much we establish ourselves they'll never accept us.

Let's see. Raul Grijalva (the walrus)(D-MECHA/LaRaza) is her patron.

Griffords is one of the boardmembers of the Southern Arizona ACLU.

She is running for elected office. She cannot sue for libel, she is a public person. (read telling the truth)

Watch her poll numbers drop.

I was following their reasoning reasonably well until it got to this one.

Both McCain and Kennedy voted against an amendment to that bill introduced by Senator John Ensign that would have stopped illegal aliens from collecting Social Security payments based on their illegal work in the United States. (For more, see Washington Times, May 19, 2006 http://www.washingtontimes.com/national/20060518-114132-2456r.htm) It is clearly fair to say, based on her support of that bill, that Ms. Giffords opposes the Ensign Amendment and therefore supports Social Security for Illegal Aliens.

McCain and Kennedy voted against Ensign's bill in the senate.

Giffords supports a different bill regarding illegal aliens by Kennedy and McCain that doesn't deal with that particular issue. That doesn't mean that she opposes the Ensign bill. It's a strawman argument. I agree Kennedy-McCain bill is a horrible bill granting amnesty to illegals and rewards them for illegal acts.

Giffords may very well oppose the Ensign bill, but the need to provide some evidence that she supports it. Some past comments or support of similar provisions, not guilt by loose association.

From casually reading their other points is appears they did a decent job of supporting them. Then I read the strawman argument and it makes me question their other statements.

They should stick with what they can back up. Otherwise they do more harm than good to their cause, and might even get their ads pulled.

I was watching what I was watching.

Anyway, I should like to point out that the DNC supports protecting the proverbial fake Rock Ridge while their allies dismantle the real one.

And by "Rock Ridge" I mean both the Constitution and the sovereign nation it defined once so well.

it's in the Governor's office.

Giffords is 37. She has been to grad school, and bankrupted/mismanaged/sold out her family's 40 year old business. She has never married. She lists her "boyfriend" as a Navy Astronaut.

She's all hat and no cattle.

Style over substance. She cant stand on her own.

We dont need a frumpy forgetful frightened foo-foo for a congresscritter in southern Arizona.

Despite her attempts to silence the Minutemen ad, Randy Graf can beat her.

She is scrambling to hide her record and will resort to anything. We can crush her by supporting Randy:

Besides, the GOP desperates needs to retain this seat which has been written off by many because of the Foley/Kolbe Homogate.

Randy is rock solid conservative Christian and he wants to secure our borders.

This is even more pathetic than usual. The liberals have sunk to the level of wanting to impede free speech because what the Minutemen are saying is true! Perhaps we should call her Comrade Giffords...

Not quite. She can sue, for being a *public person* does not deprive her of her right to pursue due process under the law. But truth is of course an absolute defence to charges of libel, and as a *public person,* it must be proven that any defamation or obloquy against her was knowingly and intentionally false.

On the other hand: if it's shown that any attempted filing of false libel charges by her were part of a Stratigic Lawsuit Against Public Participation, or SLAPP Suit, she can not only face triple damages and 1.5 times the usual attorney fees for those filing a SLAPP-Back suit, but can also face federal felony charges for any attempt to deprive her opponents of their First Amendment rights.

The business you are talking about is El Campo Tire. It was started by "Gif" and Rose Giffords. They were very hard working Orthodox Jewish people. They started out re-treading truck tires. They were Gabrielle's grandparents. Once they were successful, the Giffords (Gif and Rose) were very generous with others less fortunate. They helped numerous worthy charities in the Tucson area. Gif died of cancer several years ago. Rose was killed in a car accident maybe 5 years ago. She was 92. Their granddaughter certainly didn't follow in their footsteps!
