What a voice. CBS radio will never be the same. Prayers for the family.
I loved his voice. God bless him.
The guy who did news in between the saturday cartoons on CBS.
>>On a happier note, another highlight was the 1984 Democratic national convention, when Geraldine Ferraro became the first woman vice presidential candidate. "People standing up, locking arms and rocking back and forth, and singing and cheering and clapping...."<<
I would call that a lowlight, but that's just me.
Too young.
Rest in peace.
Ah, sad to hear. I used to listen to him every day when my local talk station cut to CBS Radio News at the top of the hour. Didn't get to hear him though after the Dan Rather fiasco since the station decided to switch from CBS to ABC.
Great voice, great delivery. Years and years of hearing the tone & inflection it gets imprinted in your mind.
I still kind of resent CBS' revamp of their top-of-the-hour jingle.

RIP
As a kid in the '70s I remember "In The News" on Saturday mornings. Glenn was a familiar voice at the top of the hour on CBS.
Veteran CBS News correspondent Christopher Glenn, who retired earlier this year, has died, CBS News reports.
Sure seems like retirement is a nasty killer.
I was just thinking about those "In the News" segments a few days ago wondering if they still showed a modern day version of those on Saturday morning TV for kids. I'm too busy watch College Football Game Day on ESPN on Saturday mornings to check.
What memories that brings back.
