The Wall Street Journal’s Nathan Koppel profiles Enron Judge Sim Lake. The Vietnam vet and Reagan appointee is best known for sentencing Dynegy trader James Olis to 24 years in prison, a sentence that was reversed by an appeals court. (Lake will re-sentence Olis later this year.)

30 mil is a drop in the bucket.

The wife and her family are among the wealthiest in Texas - so I hear.

That family would be the Weingartens, of Weingarten's Grocery Store fame. $30 mil is a serious chunk o' change, I dunno if Fastow made away with much more than that. But, the Feds got Lay & Skilling only because of Fastow's testimony...

Until there is a story to start a thread with:

Skilling just got 24 years in prison ... federal time, no parole

Still waiting for him to come out of the courthouse or to see if he is taken straight to federal prison

I wonder how long it takes for U.S. news to hit the papers in Costa Rica?
