I'd like to see the original Spanish, I bet they substituted "or you are an immigrant" for "AND you are an immigrant" just to make it sound like the letter targeted all immigrants, not just illegal ones.
So someone is lying prior to the election. What's new about this? My guess is that whoever reported this left out the word "illegal" deliberately.
Which probably applies to .005% of the people receiving this letter......
I have not seen the letter however I believe it was written in English.
Since we spend millions on translating our election doc's since we are told they don't know english, how did they know what it said?
I also heard, it said illegal aliens and non-residence which, is suppose to be the law.
"It's a very malicious and degrading letter. It's to pull Latinos down and make them afraid," said Benny Diaz, who is running for City Council in Garden Grove.

Leave it to the libs. Typical AP reporting. And Benny Diaz is pretending as if ILLEGALS have some sort of legal status as voters...OR CITIZENS. Maybe Mr. Diaz needs some lessons in the legalities of ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. And he is worried if ILLEGALS are afraid or offended....typical stinking liberal.
Reading and re-reading the translation I simply don't see anything that's misleading or in error except that everybody knows Democrats are to report to the polls on Wednesday now that "W" has exercised his penumbric authority to change election day.
I didn't see anything wrong with the letter....
its illegal for illegals to vote.....
PERIOD...
The truth is that immigrants who become naturalized citizens can legally register to vote.
The truth is that they can vote AFTER they become citizens, and not before.
So, every word in the letter is accurate.
Nathan Barankin, a spokesman for state Attorney General Bill Lockyer, said the letter was "something we are investigating aggressively right now." He said the sender could be charged with a felony and receive up to three years in state prison
So what laws were broken? I mean, aside from the laws of political correctness.
He said his wife and five other people he knows had received the letter.
I suspect this person wrote the letter himself.

If what I just wrote made you sad or angry,
it was probably just a joke.
I don't see a problem here at all. There should be posters to go along with the letters, just in case. I think the Hispanics would want to know they could go to jail before they do something that's illegal.
I didn't see anything wrong with the letter....
----
Niether did I -- it should have been nastier and meaner and more threatening. The libs of course, object because the ILLEGAL Mexicans are lib voters....that is why Diaz is pandering to them.
Thanks for linking up.. I missed that one.
I get all kinds of mail in multiple languages sometimes,, bills too..
If you're legal, It's safe to vote. Otherwise, BOOO!
Amazing how legal citizens can be locked up in jail for 3 years just because they write a letter about illegals...
So true, and it is terrible and not PC when the letter actually states the truth.
See Tagline. :-)
For writing a letter: 3 years in prison.
For aiding and abetting terrorist mass murderers: 2 years with time off for good behavior.
Yeah it's making a lot of sense.
Hey, Lockyer, just check out Howard Dean, he's always up to sleazoid activities.........
