I hope you're right. I was sort of agnostic about her for a couple of years.

I find her totally slick, packaged, repugnant, and incompetent at governing.

"So why invest in more college graduates, just to have them leave the state?"

What's her answer?

If it took anyone three debates to decide on who to vote for in the state with 7.1% unemployment, single-state recession than fortunately they're to dumb to find the polling stations. </wishful thinking>

However, I fear the state just may get bluer as it continues to die under the union/socialists that are higher in numbers than any where else except France.

And it's not just Detroit. The Ann Arbor elitists, suburban lily-white soccer mom teachers, and all the civil service unions are going to make sure the economic spiral downward will continue.

The brain drain exodus will increase along with retirees bolting to warmer climates, middle-class workers that no longer have much opportunity compared to other states.

The problem is also the housing market is already so bad from those who have lost their jobs, foreclosures, transferees, and the like there is already an excessive inventory on the market making it even more difficult to leave the state if you're a homeowner. Rant over.

...and a long-nosed, Berkeley-ite, but I'm being redundant.

Funny thing about polls...they're often more WRONG than right.

Did you know that the weekend before the election, Blanchard led Engler by 14 points??? I don't see as pollsters have gotten any more accurate: they just hedge their bets. If they're too far off they look like fools. Nevermind that most of them are...

No, he's upset because DeVos isn't him.

Basically, EEE hates everyone who doesn't agree with every one of his ideas, not only policy ideas or or societal values, but how to run their campaigns, what they eat for breakfast in the morning, how they dress, etc.

It's really quite funny sometimes.

I couldn't stomach the last debate either. Watching Granholm is like looking at a mannequin while listening to Michael Moore.

According to the polls, it isn't close.

I think the source of DeVos's fortune (Amway) and its deservedly poor reputation is weighing him down.

This looks like one more example of a rich guy trying to buy into the ultimate get-rich-quick scheme, "public service." If I were in Michigan I might hold my nose long enough to vote for him, though.

Naw... am I kidding myself? I'm in a state as bad as Michigan, and I'm leaving. That's what I'd do there, too. I will cast a last vote for doomed Republican candidates next month, though. Duty is duty even when it's unpleasant and futile.

What's your problem, you thought it would be easy getting rid of Slick Jenny?

Yes, DeVos should be winning in a LANDSLIDE. The fact that he ain't shows how weak he is.

In a generally blue, Union stuffing state?

They got families to feed just like non-union workers do. They're getting hit with the after-effects of the SBT and that translates into job losses. Plus younger Michigan graduates are leaving in droves.

I'm thrilled he's tied and has a chance to win.

Vote fraud in Detroit will give Granham cracker the re-election.

you're upset because DeVos is rich? Yep, because DeVos is not connecting with the grassroots and middle-class folks. He's running an elitist campaign and fits the stereotype of Republicans being in bed with fat cats.

Have to ask this....are you a transplant from Wisconsin, or does Madison mean something else?

What's her answer?

She feels that the business tax environment of a state isn't a very important factor in generating jobs. She thinks that more college graduates will drive companies to relocate to Michigan. Yep, it's those college graduates that cause companies to build factories in Mexico and China. Brilliant!

Has a Republican challenger ever won in anything other than a squeeker?

No Republican here will ever be capable of appealing to the union vote with any strength, they are all totally demonized by the union cash.

Your profile shows you live in Wisconsin so you really don't have a dog in this fight, do you?

I read that New Mexico sends teacher recruiters to Michigan. Not a bad deal - Michigan residents pay for 2/3 of the college costs for educating a surplus of teachers, and other states come in and hire them. That's a very stupid system (Michigan's that is).

I've been hearing the ad with Jeff Daniels saying what a great place Michigan is to start a business......

Good grief, typical of Granholm.......she runs the ad in Michigan more than in any other state. Using the State funds set aside to bring businesses to Michigan in order to run an ad for herself.......amazing......

Yeah I do, because Michigan is a barometer. What happens in MI affects my state.
