Hollywood hates Republicans primarily for one reason:

- Republicans are far more religious than Liberals. It is the belief in the Almighty that angers them and prods what remains of their conscious concerning the pitiful life they now live.

THE HOLLYWOOD CREED (they do believe in something)

1. Christians are evil.

2. Women are to be valued only for their cleavage.

3. Traditional gender roles are artificial but feminism and homosexuality are government-protected lifestyles.

4. Self-esteem is paramount; government must undertake to guarantee each citizen-victim self-esteem no matter the cost.

5. The ACLU is good, because destroying religion and silencing believers are protected by the Constitution and the First Amendment; The NRA is bad because it defends the Constitution.

6. Standardized IQ tests are racist; racial quotas and affirmative action are not.

7. Conservatives are racists; everybody knows that Black people can't make it on their own without big-buck government assistance programs and Hollyweirdos to proselytize the message 24/7.

8. Abortion is a natural right. The Founders just forgot to put it in the Constitution.

9. Normal sex is perverted. Threesomes, bestiality, necrophilia, homosexuality are just new ways to get a thrill.

10. Moral indignation is a liberal's standard strategy for endowing our output with superiority.

11. Victimization is our basic belief by which we blame and find others responsible for our own personal failures, then expect taxpayers, deep-pocketed individuals, or the courts to bail us out. It feels good to be in the throes of "victimization" and either A) causing victims, B) concocting victims, C) playing victim, D) commiserating over victims, or E) creating another class of victims to bleed over.

12. It's a liberal's duty to treat Middle America in the manner of raising mushrooms, that is to say, keep them in the dark and feed them lots of horse manure.

13. Capitalism creates oppression; government creates opportunity.

14. The traditional family is archaic, constricting, with no redeeming value. Parents that try to guide their children's choices are restrictive. Kids need to be "free".

I whole-heartedly disagree with your statement. Hollywood hates Republicans goes way back to McCarthy and Nixon. They prosecuted the commies back then and old grudges die hard.

Of course the "citizen-victim" is often a creep that commits an atrocious crime. His rights and dignity must be preserved at all costs. "At all costs" includes 1)sacrificing the rights of the perps victim and 2)the cost to the taxpayers who must now support the creep for the length of his "victimhood".

Too, how dare their vote only count as much as the 'little people', or that they have to vote in the same manner.

I long for the day that entertainers knew their place in society, and that we did as well. Some are very talented in what they do, some are even intelligent, but they are still entertainment, and it puzzles me that some put so much stock into what they say and believe. I wouldn't go to a circus monkey for ideas, so why would I go to hollywood?

The more reprehensible the crime, the larger the "victimhood."

I can't believe that they are that concerned about this. I was at a party on Saturday night and not one word of politics was mentioned. What boring lives they must have if they are worried about something that is going to happen three weeks from now. I am interested, but certainly it does not consume my life. I hope it does not consume any freepers either. I think the reason we do well is because it is NOT consuming.

The article is a subtle warning to the Hollywood elite not to say anything so stupid as to enrage the masses at this point.

A bridge to far....

If the left were to acknowledge there is a higher power than box office receipts they'd have to acknowledge their life styles are anathema to normal society.

They try to degrade the culture so they can have company in their debauchery.

It would be better, imho, if these do gooders would apply themselves to solving the significant problems of LA (gangs, illegals, bad schools, smog). After that, let me know, maybe they will be ready for prime time.

I'd be happy if the hollyweirdos would just stop tearing down the culture at every turn.

Just as a Hollywood related aside, I went to see the highly praised movie, "The Departed" over the weekend. Big names prominently displayed; Scorsese, Nicholson, Damon, Dicaprio. Not displayed, but having a secondary, prominent role, who should appear on screen but Alex Baldwin. If I'd known that I wouldn't have wasted my money.
I've noticed that with some of these politically active stars, Hollywood has taken to hiring them to show where their real sympathies lay, but not advertising their presence to show where their monetary interests lay.
If you're still determined to see it, be prepared for lots of close up gangland executions with realistic blood splatter, conversations loaded with profanity and anti Roman Catholic imagery throughout.

You forgot a few:
15. Guns kill people and as such are an abomination, but it's acceptable and fun to experiment with cocaine and heroin.
16. Books and writings by authors like C.S. Lewis and the early Christian philosophers are just biased propaganda, yet the works of Marx and Lenin are deep and brilliant, and books like 'Heather Has Two Mommies' make wonderful teaching tools for children.
17. The campaigns of genocide against Indians 150 years ago were despicable and twisted and should be kept in the public memory at all times, yet campaigns of genocide against Christians by Muslims in Egypt and Iran a few months ago are no big deal.

There is another factor in Hollywood's "culture" of drugs, sex, etc. - extreme wealth. These folks can afford the best drug treatment, divorce settlements, lawyers, etc. The consequences of acting badly are not nearly as final and devastating for these hollywood wackadoos as it is for the middle and lower classes. The effort to poison and lower the culture is hateful elitism to an extreme.

"...while the conventional wisdom points toward coming Republican losses in the House and Senate."

Conventional wisdom? More like wishful thinking! Pfffffffffttt!
