28 months, off earlier with good behavior? Should be just enough time for Stewart to write her book about being oppressed by the evil Bush/Rove right wing conspiracy.

Democrat Clintonista judge = soft on treason, soft on terrorism

Who says the Demagogues are on the same side as AMERICA in the War on Terror??? They continually appease, grovel, aid and abet our terrorist enemies, and seek in every way to further what David Horowitz has rightly called the "unholy alliance" of western leftists and Islamo-fascists.

I can't wait to see what Horowitz has to say about this.

I can't wait to see what Horowitz has to say about this.

Here's what I say: The 1993 bombers intended that one tower would tip over knockin itself and the second tower down. My estimate of deaths: 50 to 100 thousand.

If they had used 2,3 or 6 trucks it might have succeeded.

Yes. And who's to say whether the messages Stewart passed back and forth didn't help the jihadis complete their mission on the towers in 2001.

She should have been sentenced to AT LEAST life with no parole. Hopefully, the 30 year sentence would have done it. I have NO pity for her.

Thanks for the ping! I caught the news earlier today quoting Stewart as blaming her conviction on "post-9/11 hysteria".

A sickeningly light sentence. And Soros funded her defense and I have to wonder if he paid off the judge.

Sickening is right. Nobody has to suffer consequences for any wrongdoing anymore.....except conservatives of course.

Another reason to vote Republican!   Remember Kimba Wood?

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York has 28 authorized judgeships, filled by judges appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. One seat is vacant due to the death of Constance Baker Motley. In addition, judges who have taken senior status are eligible to continue hearing cases. As of August 1, 2006, the Chief Judge of the District is Judge Kimba Wood, succeeding Judge Michael Mukasey who is returning to private practice.

"One of Judge Wood's most famous decisions was sentencing Michael Milken, known as "The Junk Bond King", to ten years in prison"

I never really knew much about what Milken supposedly did, but I have read that he was railroaded on technicalities that have NEVER been prosecuted before or since. In any case, it is quite a country where Milken gets 10 years (maybe deserved, maybe not, I really don't know) but a depraved terrorist-abettor like Lynne Stewart gets only 28 months for helping the conspiracies of some of the world's worst terrorists...... what a country!!

National Lawyers Guild - NYC Chapter    Page 1 and 6 (with lots of interesting stuff in between)

The defense committee is calling for immediate help publicizing a critical letter-writing campaign to make pleas for leniency to Judge Koeltl before sentencing.   We want to make it clear to the Judge that Lynne is not “dangerous” and that she has served as a lawyer of distinction for thirty years.  While we may be tempted to use the letter to the Judge to rail against the system, such rage will not be helpful to Lynne.  She is 65 years old and faces a possible 30 year sentence.  Now that the Federal Sentencing Guidelines are no longer controlling (because of recent Supreme Court cases) Judge Koeltl actually has discretion in sentencing. We are hopeful that providing the judge with an impressive array of letters on Lynne’s behalf will have a positive impact.  The deadline for those letters is July 15th. (See www.lynnestewart.org for details).

Milken died in prison, didn't he?

Yep. 10 years 'junk bonds' 2 1/4 years for endangering every inhabitant of the USA. Topsy-turvy!

Can you tell...the lenient sentence REALLY MAKES ME ANGRY.

I told you guys not to expect more than three years, and all the reasons why.

Stewart can get up to about 15% shaved off for good behavior, which takes it down to a smidge over two years. What pisses me off the most, though, is that it appears she will remain out pending appeal, which could take up to a year or so. That means sentence may not even be imposed until a year from now and, if she prevails in the appeal and gets a new trial which might not start for another year after that, she may die before she ever sees the inside of that cell. Meanwhile, back at the Chapaqua landfill, if Hillary were to become president, Stewart would get an immediate pardon and the whole thing would go away.

The 60's radicals have been taking care of their own this way for years, especially with the Clinton-appointed judges.

More likely Hillary interceded. She and Stewart are friends. The judge is a Clinton-appointee. This is NY where Hillary is a sitting powerful U.S. senator. Clinton pardoned one of Stewart's client's radical associates, Linda Evans from the Weather Underground, on his way out of office, I believe at Soros's request (and probable pay-off). All, including Hillary, hail from the Ramsey Clark days of 60's radical saturnalia, Ramsey Clark being a radical darling and associate of the Clintons and Stewart. It's all very incestuous and I said before, more than a 3-year sentence would be surprising.
