Political crossovers are in.
So, I'll make my own cross-party comparison and predict that Bob Beauprez, the GOP nominee for governor, might become this year's Harry Truman.
Notwithstanding the recent Denver Post poll showing Ritter ahead 50 percent to 35 percent, this thing's not over yet.
What Truman, the scrappy underdog, did to his favored challenger in 1948 could be the template for a come-from-behind Beauprez win. Ritter as a latter-day Thomas E. Dewey - imagine that.
Winner or not, Battlin' Bob gets my vote for at least 10 reasons: immigration, judges, jobs, taxes, education, health care, highways, water, values and qualifications.
That's the deciding decalogue in Beauprez's favor. Here is my case for the Republican nominee:
While I'm too young to remember "Dewey Wins," the headline waved by a beaming President Truman, I'll never forget how the upset stunned my parents. Will Ritter's rooters get a similar shock on Nov. 7 as Beauprez wins at the wire?
This Republican hopes so.

John Andrews was president of the Colorado Senate in 2003-04.
He hosts "Backbone Radio" on Sundays at 5 p.m.on 710-KNUS
I hope his wish comes true, although Bill Ritter isn't the worst that Colorado Democrats could have run.
With congressman Salazar getting the NRA endorcement...we are really headed the wrong way.
IMHO
Thanks for the info on John Andrews. I'll have to try and catch him next Sunday night!
He talks moderate. But he, like the rest of his party, is bought and paid for by the unions. He will do their bidding. Colorado is in for very, very rough sledding if he wins.
I don't know if homeschooling and charter schools will survive the next two years. Certainly concealed carry is dead. Any sort of fiscal restraint is gonzo.
I hope all those Republican idiots who supported removing the constitutional spending limits (Referendum C) just before the rats took control of Colorado are happy now.
Any one with assets should consider selling them now.
We will not see these taxes rates again.
Plus market conditions are set for a top, even if a short term top.
IMHO.
Question. A FR thread was deleted on Ritter's dupllicity and Democrats usual stunts. Do you know why this happened?
