Mexico does not allow foreigners to own land. There is something wrong here.

OWN. But nothing in the Mexican Constitution or laws prohibits foreigners from LEASING or RENTING land from Mexicans. That's how Americans can acquire property in Mexico. They don't actually own it - they're sort of trustees for the places they live in, so to speak.
