NICE job with those screen caps. CONGRATS to the Detroit Tigers... a well-deserved victory! :o)

I'll give the A's credit for getting past the Twins. When you check the A's batting average, they're pretty bad. Same for the Cardinals. They're beating the Mets with players the Tigers didn't want when they were terrible.

Last I heard, Denny McClain was in jail. Mickey Lolich owns a donut shop in the Detroit suburbs.

How long before Detriot riots?
Gotta say something nasty. Must be a Yankees or Oakland fan.
I grew up in the greater Detroit area and he is dead on...
Been to both of the others and it would apply there as well.

Incidentally, he said something true about Detroit. You responded with a shot at the other teams. It is NOT true about Detroit...THAT was the issue. Detroit hasn't "rioted" due to winning any of our major sports achievements in the last several years: Red Wings, Pistons, etc. Don't know what people are talking about.

Yes, the A's did a bang up job against the Twins (another good choke team). The A's seem to be able to get to the playoffs, and then they seem to forget how to put some wins on the board. Don't know much about the Cardinals or Mets, except that they both seem to be able to play well, even when losing.

I won't be going *away*, just running around way too much. And company for the week to help with paperwork.
My brain will be elsewhere, that is, when it's not lost. LOL
I may be able to pop in now and then, but I'm not counting on coherence. ("So what will be different?" you might ask. LOL)

We still have the Lions (one playoff win since 1957). That team sucks and will as long as the Fords own it and hire idiots like Matt Millen to run it.

The "LIONS" are a joke. Too bad they built a stadium for them.

Enjoy Detroit's win! Let the other stuff go. Pudge is a class act and the Tigers will win easily. God bless em!

This is a great night in Detroit. I was at last nights game and the crowd was wild but very manageable. I sat next to a girl who bought two tickets on EBay for $350.00 each. I didn't have the heart to tell her one of my vendors gave me his tickets because his son was having surgery.
To: BW2221
Did you have to bring up the Lions. Most of us are Lions-free in Michigan. Please don't mention them until Ford sells the team.
To: badpacifist
But the Royals did their best to get 'em ready for this.I think that's true.

It wouldn't be bad to play St. Louis but I think the Tigers would really enjoy beating both NY Teams in one year. Especially after their games had to get moved to early afternoon because NY took precedence over prime time. A lot of fans missed the first hour or so of last nights game because of the schedule change.
