Thank God for small favors -- that the USAF memorial didn't come into being during bubba's so-called presidency.

Hmmm. Methinks that waiting might have been done on purpose.

Perhaps so too with the WWII Memorial.

George W. Bush's name looks so lovely on it!

My internet connection is really spazzy. It might be funny if it didn't irritate me so much.

Anyway...how are you? Anything exciting going on?

But X42's name might (I don't know for sure) be on the Holocaust Memorial ...

I think I remember him doing his lip-biting schtick at the opening ceremony (1993?)

Quote of the Day: President Bush: "A soldier can walk the battlefields where he once fought, a Marine can walk the beaches he once stormed, but an airman can never visit the patch of sky he raced across on a mission to defend freedom. And so it's fitting that, from this day forward, the men and women of the Air Force will have this memorial, a place here on the ground that recognizes their achievements and sacrifices in the skies above."

I wish that just once our local paper, the Philadelphia Inquirer, would have something good to say about our President, George W. Bush. I wish every American could read this beautiful tribute to our Air Force. But that would be expecting too much. Which is why I only read the comics and local news.

Thank you for posting this quote for all of us to read and treasure, silent_jonny.

Might I suggest you copy your post to Jonny (including W's quote) and put it into a letter to the Editor, perhaps including a couple photos from the USAF Memorial dedication, and let them know how you feel about their news "coverage"? It might not hurt to mention you find more actual news on the Internet than you're getting through their paper.
