Yep, they or their master. Tough to get rid of when half of the population fancies itself 'urban', and you have an aging demographic with a significant proportion of people nailing farm subsidies in the hinterlands.

Of course, if they 'save Social Security' the same way they are 'saving the family farm', I won't have to worry about collecting retirement money from that ponzi scheme, more like obtaining and keeping a large enough plot for subsistence agriculture in my old age.

Those same tired mantras keep buying them votes, though.
