AMSTERDAM — Health Minister Hans Hoogervorst has outraged MPs by declaring that discussions over medical care for illegal immigrants is too sentimental, claiming that they receive better care than the Dutch.
The statement came after the Christian Democrat CDA and the left-wing opposition parties had demanded better access to GPs for asylum seekers on Thursday.
The Liberal VVD minister said that their concern was based on "incidents and TV programmes" and that "access to GPs for asylum seekers is better regulated than for residents of the Netherlands", news service NIS reported.
Labour PvdA, Socialists SP, green-left GroenLinks and CDA MPs reacted angrily, accusing the minister of playing down the problems.
Hoogervorst said healthcare for asylum seekers costs an average of EUR 10,000 per person per year, excluding hospital charges.
The average cost for Dutch nationals is EUR 4,300, including hospital charges.

In other news, a sign at the Marlboro (MA) Hospital says in six languages (none of them English) that if you want an interpreter one will be provided, and that you will receive treatment whether you can pay or whether you are a citizen. The City of Marlboro is going broke but they feel good about themselves.
This is what we in San Diego have been dealing with for years. The illegals are putting hospitals out of business.
One has lost over $60 million in the past five years.
I am angry to see this also going on in the Nederlands as I have Dutch ancestry and having been there, I hate seeing the third world types trashing the country.

Someone MUST take the bull by the horns and write and pass legislation stating that a child born to an illegal immigrant is NOT a US Citizen and is NOT entitled to the benefits of citizens.
The USA is going broke providing for illegal immigrants! Children of citizens get caught on the outside of the medical coverage loop. The USA should NOT be paying for illegal immigrants to have children in the USA.
And even though "The deficit reduction act of 2005" forces verification of citizenship and identity for citizens, it does not require similar verification for illegal immigrants. They don't get "ongoing" Medicaid coverage, but the do get ALL of their medical expenses paid courtesy of the US Government (or GIVErnment). The illegal immigrant is usually working for cash and they are allowed to bring in a 'statement' verifying their income. Anyone can write a statement that Jose de Jose is paid $400 every Friday by John Johnson of Johnson Construction.
The USA is perceived as weak by the Mohammadans. Well, the Latinos know how weak the USA really is. We won't protect our borders, we are sappy liberals when it comes to children and the ill and they are going to drain us dry.
