I do NOT expect a complete liberal "meltdown."

Good, you are obviously a clear-thinking individual.

Despite all the fuming, Bush and the Republican leadership. have actually tried to keep a foot in both camps....

Part of why the gop is in trouble, don't you think?

I still hold tight to my original premise.

The gop will probably not lose control of the house and senate. Our individual votes are mostly meaningless, and even in the highly unlikely event of the loss of one or both branches, nothing will change for the worse, and the resulting gridlock might actually slow down the wastefull expansion of government.

So,

more importantly, here in Ohio, we finally have the chance to approve gambling statewide. I couldn't be more in favor. and from a voting point of view, I'm writing in TonyRo76.

Don't buy the gridlock theory. Much of the problem lies in the stffing situation which seems to have produced the Foley mess. Congresmen keep hiring more and more staff. A congressman today has many more staff than a senator did in 1960. If the congressman did more of his own work instead of being out raising money, there would be a lot less pork added to these bills.
