I showed this photo to my very liberal friend last night.
Her first response was, "that has to be fake".

Well, I guess it could be, but looking at the map provided and then going elsewhere (google maps), it just doesn't line up. The bright light in what appears to be the Yellow sea is inside of the bulge of North Korea. The coast of China is well outside of that bulge.

Thanks a lot.... now I'm going to spend the rest of the day with that song in my head... :>)Yes, my Grandfather-in-law sings it regularly. He also sings the old Brylcream commercial jingle. So, thinking of this song has me thinking of him AND the Brylcream commercial jingle. I am alternating between the two.

Yeah, it was made famous by Jim Reeves, Dean Martin, those guys.
I think you may be right, GSC, its Kim singing about his lost love--former partner in crime Secretary M. Albright.
In a far away land On a tropic sea sand If your hand's in my hand I won't be blue Way up on a mountain Way down in a valley I know I'll be happy Any place anywhere I don't care
In the misty moonlight By the flickering firelight Any place is all right Long as you are there
As for the latter.....
Brylcream a little dab'll do ya Brylcream you look so debonaire Brylcream the gals'll all pursue yaaaaaaa They'll love to run their fingers through your hair. ;)

"I think that is the coast of China - city of Shandong."
Nope. Those lights are in the middle of the Yellow Sea, not along a coastline. The fishing fleets in that part of the world are essentially huge floating factories - like a small city. They are also extremely well-lit because they are 24 hour operations.

When "life" has thrown everything at you and you are in utter dispondancy..
At least you don't live in North Korea.. might/should be considered.

Yeah - it doesn't quite line up, even though the Shandong peninsula juts out quite far into the sea. Might well be fishing vessels, but whatever it is, it's lit up like a Christmas tree.

That one and only big white dot in the country is the presidential palace where Little Kim sleeps with his bedroom lights blazing, his stuffed panda, his nightly concubine and his Uzi.
