Just saw some more about this interview on a tab TV show this afternoon.
Karr's interview was with Dr. Keith Ablow, the TV shrink with a new show that just started. I don't have cable, so haven't seen it.
The Karr interview will be on next Tuesday on Ablow's show. That would be 10/17/06. Have a barf bag with you.
Anyway, the "controversy" was that he allegedly had 6 glasses of wine in the green room before the interview. They had Dr. Ablow on this show and he said it was all untrue, then Karr was not drunk and had not had any alcohol.
(Aside - I liked Ablow at first, during the Peterson trial, when he was a consultant or TV talking head, on the subject of narcissism - but with each subsequent article or interview about him, I have become quite disenchanted with him and don't like him anymore at all. Would not watch his show, even if I could.)
That said, this seems typical of him to have "controversies" to hype his show. There have been others previously, although I can't name them because I forget them within a few seconds.
He *claims* that John Mark Karr is *still* insisting that he killed JonBenet and that the Boulder DA just didn't have the right DNA results. He swears to Ablow in the interview that he still has the 2nd pair of JonBenet's underwear that was missing.
They showed that part of Karr's interview as a clip, with him saying that.
The rest of the Karr/Ablow segment was about Karr still expecting to be a teacher - Karr himself was talking about how "academics" are not his "only interest" in working with children, he intends to work with them "holistically" to meet "all their needs."
Someone, anyone, please do something to get this deviant off of the planet Earth!
