True, and nobody can make a case where police should endorse "no go" zones. But there's a difference between gang/drug violence and outright rebellion.
You are correct. But how does Paris quell this uprising? In earlier times, the police would be instructed to "shoot to kill" if attacked. I'm not sure the French police are even armed. You saw what happened when the French police chased the Muslim youths into the electric power station. They had 10,000 cars a night torched. Outside of going door-to-door and deporting all non-citizens, what can they do now that they have let this boil fester?
