There would be millions killed in Seoul.
They have tens of thousands of in-ground mortars (big ones) pointed directly at Seoul and I read in a report that they would be able to lob over 12,000 500 pound artillary shells into the city in less than 12 hours.
The only way to prevent such an event would be multiple tactical nukes North of the DMZ.

Actually virtually all of the estimates I've seen of the North Korean artillery that is within range of Seoul are wildly overestimated - most of them seem to assume every artillery piece the NKs have is within range of Seoul which is patently ludicrous.

Actually, I'm thinking loads after loads of delayed fuse cluster bombs. Which did not exist during the Korean War, of course. And Multiple Launch Rocket Systems. Not to mention JDAM's for hardened positions. I believe this is what we used to suppress Iraqi artillery fire during Iraqi Freedom.
