Outline of Mr.Tonkin's health issues.
Please keep in mind that we're not medical experts and if we get something wrong, we're learning as we go.
Apologies in advance.

Last Friday, Mr. Tonkin was at the Chiropractor for a sore shoulder issue. While there, he had a heart attack and subsequent
stroke. Thank you God that he was at the Chiropractor for an ongoing shoulder issue and not at home.
If you know Mr.Tonkin, he would have just ignored it and slept on it until the morning.

We found out yesterday the extent of what had happened to his body.

Here's the rundown:
(Again, please keep in mind our medical expert ineptness.)

--massive heart attack
--Ischemic Stroke

*We believe this is the type of stroke he had because of other items we are about to detail.

--Artery to the brain was blocked/clogged.

--Clots in his neck.

--He was in CCU and they were hoping to move him to NCU soon.

--Bleeding ulcers

--Blood pressure is high.
*As we were told elsewhere, they cannot give him blood thinners right now.

Update from his business partner:

He spoke to Mr.Tonkin on the phone earlier this morning.
He says Mr.Tonkin's speech is slow, but clear.
He now has some movement.
Please pray for his eye sight that it is fully restored.

If we've been told correctly, this will be a long journey ahead for him.
Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
We all greatly appreciate all the prayers, thoughts, sentiments, and concern from all those online.

We'll try to update everyone when we get more information and permission to do so.

Also, thank you to a very special FReeper who has seen Mr.Tonkin personally and has reported back that he's starting to get better.

Apologies for anyone we've missed! Thank you to StarCMC and Brad's Gramma for trying to get everyone's name from the thread.

This appears to be virtually identical to a medical crisis that the mother of a dear friend of mine went through--seven years ago. She's still hanging tough. The doctors are unable to treat some of the clotting in her neck, as the clots are located so close to her spinal column. After her condition stabilized following her MI/stroke, she was put on blood pressure meds, to which she responded very well. Her condition has improved every year following the initial crisis.

OH NO! Though I don't get in here often, I've always admired Tonkin's posts.

My thoughts and prayers go out to him, his family and friends. May God place His healing hands on Mr. Tonkin. We miss him!
