If Mary Jo Kopechne had lived, she would be 64 years old.
Through his tireless work as a legislator,
(Sen. for Life) Edward Kennedy would have brought comfort to her in her old age.
Charles Pierce, January 5, 2003 Boston Globe Magazine

If Mary Jo Kopechne had lived, she would be 67 years old.
Had she lived she would have gladly supported
Edward Kennedy's (insane, inaccurate) attacks on the GOP.

I brought this up yesterday during a high school GOTV debate between myself, a Dem, a Green and a Libertarian. After they all had a laugh on the subject, I pointed out that Republicans fired Foley on the spot (unlike Ted Kennedy who drove drunk off a bridge and left a young staffer to drown in the car), are doing a thorough investigation, and that I expect the results to be found that the Democrat leadership was aware and hiding Foley's actions so they could spring it at the last minute.
The Dem just about blew a fuse. She said "Well, you had to go back pretty far on that one!" at which point I retorted, "He is STILL a Democrat senator!"
The Dems got ZERO registrations that session. Republicans got the most.

... Sen. Edward Kennedy's 1969 incident at Chappaquiddick in which a young campaign worker died after the Massachusetts Democrat's car plunged off a bridge."
Mary Jo Kopechne was unavailable for comment.

Shays may be the most liberal GOP critter. Perhaps there's hope for the GOP.

...arguing Chappaquiddick had nothing to do with Hastert's current situation. True, Hastert hasn't killed anyone.
