The sight of a carrier on the horizon is a clear message to some tin-horn dictator that his time is ALMOST up. I doubt a carrier group would be in the area without a sub accompanying it.

you got that right, standard depolyment is 2 SSNs to a battle group..now where they are in and around the group, you have to guess ;)
