Who does the Foley scandal really hurt? Have you talked to a single die-hard Republican that heard about Foley and suddenly said "OMG I've been lied to all these years. I'm tired of fancy boys molesting kids in the Congress, I'm voting for the party of the Kennedy's." Seriously.

The people most affected by the Foley scandal are the people who were already going to vote Democrat- because they already thought Republicans ate babies, and the disaffected idiots who believe the 24/7 whining from the MSM.

Furthermore, the aforementioned disaffected idiots are just that- disaffected. Historically and statistically speaking, people who are fed-up with a particular party or candidate don't go to the polls to vote for the opposition. They simply don't vote at all. This might be a problem if it was a Presidential election year and the outcome of the entire race depended on a thousand votes. But Congressional races are more local-centric and much less likely to be determined by a margin of less than a thousand votes.

Will some Republicans lose seats? Probably. Some Democrats will lose seats too. Will control of the Congress radically shift?

I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

Spot on analysis. Good job cutting through the defeatism of a few non-thinkers who are victims of the drive by media on FR.
