Can we get back to important issues? And out of the Foley induced gutter frenzy?
Liberty Call US ^ | October 11, 2006 | Charles Bloomer

For over a week now we have been inundated with endless reports of the salacious text messages from a now-resigned Congressman. The Dems and their left wing media supporters have ignored the important issues that face us right now, today, preferring to wallow in the slime of a minor Congressman's peccadilloes. In addition to North Korea and its insane dictator, Iran has refused to stop its nuclear program. Iran has stonewalled the European negotiations and ignored the United Nations' threat of sanctions.

So let me ask a simple question. Which of the following is a life-or-death problem (you may choose more than one): a) A disgraced homosexual former Congressman; b) A nutcase leader of North Korea with nuclear weapons; c) A nutcase leader in Iran with nuclear weapons; d) Abandoning Iraq and leaving the country to terrorists.

It's obvious -- the left's number one priority is trying to smear the GOP.

Obviously Iran and N.Korea having nukes is not an issue to the left. They say why not -- the USA has nukes. It's not faaaaaaaair to keep other countries from having them.

It is very instructive to observe what stories the MSM are obsessed to cover, promote, and wallow in by the minute. See this whole mess was by design to OFFEND the morals voters cause on any given day they have their evil homophobic hate mongers projects to broadcast.

This is like watching the mind of Sybil in action.

Just wait some idiot in Congress will have in hand their "HATE CRIME" legislation as resolution.

After watching the news coverage lastnight, I am firmly convinced that we will not elect a woman president. The evening began with Brit Hume interviewing Condi Rice. Her multilateral diplomace has produced a stunning and unprecedented unity and willingness to deal wioth this matter in the UN. However, the rest of the evening featured a parade of male egos who wanted to act as if NK tests were unexpected and everyone was rushing to decide what to do. In fact, the groundwork of what is being done has already been laid, the contingency plans vetted, and most of the tqalk we see is just gratuitous hot air.

On so many levels I agree with your observations.

Take heart! This is better than we could ever expect.

The sleaze factor will totally defeat the Dems in unanticipated, but devastating ways, all unanticipated yet dramatically revealing what a bankrupt ,spineless bunch of criminals they actually are.

Count on decent Americans to be reviled by this tawdry focus on one pitiful individual's public behavior and use it in a silly attempt to discredit all Republicans and the sitting President of the United States.

More than anything it reveals their vicious contempt for the average American voter and how utterly disgraceful the Dems really are.

We get to witness the toll that unintended consequences have on fools.

You need to understand the public psyche a little better. The best way for the Republicans to handle the Foley issue is to preempt and saturate. And that is exactly what Speaker Denny Hastert is doing. The reason is to make the story "yesterday's news" as fast as possible. The goal is to get the public to the point of where you are at, as soon as possible - sick of the story. The worst thing that can be done is conceal and allow the other side to control the issue. The democrats want the story to drip, drip, drip.

If some ways, this story can help Republicans, in a sleazy kind of way. There are voters out there, usually young and with libertine views, who have stayed away from the Republics because they see us as a little too white, straight and "perfect". They want a more "human" party they can relate too. They want ALL America to be represented. I happen to not agree with their populist view. I think we should be represented by the "best among us". But I am only one voter.

The Foley story is old news, thanks partly to NK but also to the handling by Speaker Hastert. If Clinton would have came out and said, "I too have sinned" rather then denying he had sex with Lewinsky, the story would have died in a month. He would have been lionized for his courage to come clean... Gore might be our president now...

Just as most of us have a limit to toilet humor, most up us have a limit to how much knowledge we want about other peoples bedroom.

Let this guy, "Rogers" out all the Republicans. Let more pages come forward with more claims. Besides the fact that there will inevitably be side-effects that involve Dems, the dems will appear as the party that is obsessed with bedrooms rather the war-rooms.

And then we say "No more!".

I think we said the same thing. I was writing my post "off-line" during work breaks and didn't notice when yours came in. Great mines think alike.
