As poverty-stricken student in Los Angeles during the late 80's and early 90's I had to live in some extremely seedy areas just to survive. Given the number of vagrants, crack-dealers, whores, pimps, run-away teenagers, con-men, illegal immigrants, little black gangsta-wanna-bes..........I learned to use the fish-eye lens on my apartment door and NEVER opened the door unless I had my 9mm Beretta in my pocket.

I was in Lost Angeles for the Rodney-King riots and watched the city burn down over a certain criminal scumbag's behavior. I watched as innocent people were pulled from cars and beaten by certain enraged minorities. Nonetheless, some FReepers don't have the cajones to call you a Racist to your face for saying that you won't 'open your door'. I have no respect for them anyways.
