Perhaps it was the democrats who actually "stole" the election from their own candidates because they knew how badly they'd screwed up the world and knowing that all their screw ups were likely to blow up for the next president they threw the elections so that the republicans would get blamed for their incompetency and errors.
That being said, I don't really believe this because I don't believe the democrats are either smart enough to conceive or pull off such a plan nor could they possibly overcome their breathless groping for power long enough to allow such a plan to come to fruition...twice.
