We have satellite television, and on the "Boomerang Channel" they play all of the old cartoons, Flintstones, Yogi Bear, Tom and Jerry...

Every morning my children watch the Flintstones before the bus comes. And I find myself singing along. Such things are just ingrained in you, after enough time has passed.

He also played 'Sally Tomato' in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

What did Barney do for a living?

In "The Flintstones," what was Barney Rubble's job?

I saw him once in a My Favorite Martian episode. I heard the voice and said, who is that? Took me a few seconds to put it together. Yes, he did look like Fred.

On the Independence, we had a PO1 turned CPO who looked like Fred. Everytime he would come in the message center, a guy from NYC would shout "Yabba Dabba Doo!" I don't think the CPO ever caught on to the joke.

I was always a fan of Betty in an unsavory way. I loved her too. I was perhaps 10, and that was Bea Banaderet well into her 50s(Kate Bradley on Petticoat Junction) doing the voice. She did a great job.

Sad news. I bought the entire series (6 seasons) on DVD. I love the Flintstones.

IIRC (which happens with more irregularity as time passes) he also did the animation for the Beatles "Yellow Submarine."

RIP
