This was a campaign goal of Reagan - one he was unable to deliver, unfortunately. It is illegal...
I had an organization (Families For Freedom) back in the 80's and was umbrellered with like groups around the country.
I worked closely with Charlotte - who then lived only a few miles "down the road". She has dedicated her life to this issue and suffered a lot of slings and arrows...she served in DC during the Reagan years, in the Education Department.
I was a participant in an Eagle Forum Conference - Phylis Schaefly - in the 80's - we had a private tour of the White House and Reagan spoke at our Banquet Dinner.
We worked our butts off, holding the line of these socialists determined to rule this country - and the schools has been their first line of indoctrination...and their plan to infiltrate and take over the democratic party has now reached fruition. We now have two parties: the Republican Party and the Socialist Party. Believe it. If they get back in power - your votes will no longer count. Democracy will be but a memory.

What does it take to start a political think tank anyway? I have so many things that I get on my soap box about that I think are critically important. I was thinking of calling it The Founding Fathers Institute or something along those lines. I'm more convinced than ever before that our only hope as a nation is to return to the principles and faith of our forefathers.
Reagan couldn't even begin to deliver on his pledge to try to get rid of DOE because not one Congressman was willing to sponsor the bill. School reform? Only in some parallel universe...Homeschool or private school, but never school by government
